This is definitely not entry level, and these days performance wise you can get a looot more car for the money, even within porsches own model line about 20-30k more can get you a loaded out carrera s with the 450hp power bump. But its porsche and there will always be someone who wants one so badly that they stretch to the very ends or their budget to get one, so seriously doubt they've seen a significant reduction in sales, or even any reduction at all.

I think a msrp 11k Subc/ 15k daytona steel future is nearer than alot think.
I was going to make a similar comparison.

The Porsche factory shuts down regularly and the values go up as a result of the waiting times for each model getting longer. Try ordering a 911 GT3 with touring pack built to spec and compare the price with one already available .... when you eventually find one, its the same for the Turbo S.

Then there is the rise in marketing and desirability of the Tudor brand lately .. I personally think there is a connection there with Tudor and Rolex marketing departments ... a price rise on Rolex watches would not surprise me in the very near future, making Tudor entry level and Rolex prestige "again" would not be surprising ..... its how it was originally.

The situation speculation on this thread and all the others related to this is interesting but...

Does anyone know what is really happening at Rolex?

Short answer is ... nope.

Its not like Rolex would issue a statement about running out of steel

I wanted to post that "maybe there is not enough steel and its as simple as that" as I am experiancing increased lead times for manufacture of some components in my industry .... I just didnt want to be ridiculed and thrown off the board though becasue its always more enteraining to speculate and put forward conspiracies hahahaha.

However ... here's something interesting to maybe back up the stainless shortage scenario, not to mention the forthcoming EU tarrifs.

With >200000 on the Forum I’m happy that we don’t all have an opinion.

As for me I am probably finished with Rolex.
I am interested in two or three models but see no chance of finding them in Oz at retail and I will not pay a cent over the price that Rolex has listed on their website.

Unless my local AD rings me and offers me models I want then Rolex has probably lost a customer.

There are other brands and other sub-forums right here.

Why I think rolex should NOT produce more steel sportswatches

Most customers are not WIS and not every WIS is a Rolex fanboy.
If I can’t buy a watch, if their business does not respect my money- I’ll just enter the next door. Thank God there are plenty of alternatives.

But boy do they love it when this happens and the prices go up. Either you want to make money or appreciate whatever is on your wrist if you say you are ''watch lover/enthusiast/connaisseur''.
I don't enjoy anything I own going down in value.

A Rolex shortage would not motivate me to buy a Tudor, not when Omegas are readily available. Omega makes a fantastic watch and they keep getting better.

A shortage doesnt motivate me either ... once my mind is made up I'm prepared to wait it out, and if it happens it happens, if not, not the end of the world .... I've made the mistake of buying something else to fill the gap before ... it never ends well and never fills the gap, so I simply get over it and carry on with life.

I've owned a couple of Omegas in my time, a Seamaster and a Speedmaster ... both fantastic watches. Traded one and the other was stolen during a house break in, back in the days before I owned a safe.
