116618LB, one of the most beautiful dial in the Rolie line.

I’ve caught the bug for something in YG. I don’t think I’ll end up having multiple watches in YG though. I’m thinking this would be something to fill a gap in the collection, and for when I want that occasional extra pop of yellow gold.

I got very close to pulling the trigger on a 116718LN with the black dial. Right now, that’s my front runner. Although I just inherited a 16753 (two tone GMT on jubilee), so I thought it might be overkill to have both of those.

If you were to only have one yellow gold watch, what would it be?
I’ll go ahead and rule out a DD, since I have one in platinum, and I just don’t think I want another. And, it doesn’t necessarily have to be Rolex.

Thoughts? Advice?
Have a look at the Patek 5396 and 5170. Pretty dramatic complications. Gorgeous too.

My first gold watch was a Breitling with a black face and a black leather band. I owned it for 15 years and receintly gave it to my son. In November 2017 my wife bought me my first Rolex. Gold sub with the blue sunburst dial. Make no mistake, it is far and away my favorite watch of all time. I also have a TT Skydweller with a white dial that I really like but the gold sub gets most of the wrist time. Be sure to see one in person before you decide.

I love the feel of yellow gold on my wrist. It is very different from SS. I wouldn’t mind owning a platinum watch but these days it is hard enough deciding between the two I have now.

Just an 1803; still flashy enough to catch comments and looks...

Can’t go wrong with a president, especially if you go vintage and get a Stella dial IMHO

normally prefer RG over YG, if I were to have only 1 YG watch it would be the Yacht Master 2.

Have you considered Blue YG Sub. Pretty spectacular in the metal.

My money went this way: Sub. YG. Blue. SB. Classical proportions. Box fresh - and that translates into a NOS 16618LB with stickers.

It's the Tutankhamon position.

Just like OP, as far as I could get a platinum DD (one day, hopefully ...), I would be satisfied with only my 16618.

Or a YG Jean-Claude Killy ... (not realistic, though, unless I win the lottery).

You can’t go wrong with the 116718LN you are leaning towards, for me it would be 16618 Black Dial.

My thoughts exactly.

I have no desire for a yellow gold watch until my wife suggested I try on the 116518LN on oysterflex.
It’s got enough black on the bezel and strap to even out the bling of YG.
