you shouldn't expect any discount at all through phone calls tbh

AD's around me (Orange County, CA) never give discounts on pieces that are easy to sell.

I recommend just buying it at full price. It's a great watch, and these days you're lucky just to find a Rolex.

I Expect that if you buy it, you'll love it!

You'll forget about the cost once you sport it for a while. The enjoyment lasts forever.

Those were the old days. MSRP is the new discount these days.

If you track the watch pricing on the classifieds here or watchrecon.com, you can get a better idea of what you can expect to pay for it. I would think 8600 would be a pretty good price.

I was quoted recently 16% off, no tax on the same model roman dial DJ41 except i prefer the smooth bezel and now I'm still deciding on the bracelet. It will have to be ordered but should not take long at all. When I decide 100% I'm going to pre pay and I know I can get another hundred off at least with cash. I did buy two Rolex from this AD since this past may. I suggest to be patient and shop around. The stainless steel hype does not include the DJ so don't fall for that.

1) Not everyone is where you are.
2) Not everyone is buying exactly the same watch as you.
3) Some folks are better at negotiating than you.
4) Some folks already have a relationship with an AD who wishes to reward their continuing business.
5) Some folks are paying through more convenient or inexpensive methods than you are.

I was offered 10% off a DJ41 in San Francisco a few weeks ago. But at least two of the factors above were different for me.
