John McCain dies at 81

Although I did not like his politics during his final years, I believe that he was honest and straightforward. As for being a hero, he was one of our finest. RIP.

Woke up earlier than usual this morning, especially for a weekend. Went online and decided to read a little more & follow some tributes given to the man, father, husband, friend, & politician known as John McCain. I invite you to watch the eulogy given by Joe Biden. I literally had tears streaming down my face & I have no personal connection with the man. To summarize, my daughter asked while driving around town, Mom, why are the flags at (x) and (y) at half staff?” After I answered why her response was, “isn’t he the guy that was...who...is now...?”.

You did good Mr. McCain! You already impressed upon another generation what is means to be an upstanding person irregardless of political preferences. RIP

Love him or hate him, he was a maverick, did it his way, made mistakes, owned them, and wasn’t afraid to break party lines and reach across the isle to do what he thought was right for Americans. His loss is significant and we need more people like him in office.

The tributes alone but the fact they come from many from both sides really does tell you a lot.

I found some of what she said uncalled for especially from someone born into extreme privilege.
