Rolex 1601 and 1603 Impulse Buys Follow-up
Hi guys,
I am following up a post from earlier this month. I purchased a Rolex 1603 pictured below that I had some suspicions about in terms of lume and bracelet. Seeing it in person I am a lot more confident, watch even came with papers from Bob’s Watches were it was purchased in 2014 watch dates to 1972 based on the serial number. Everything looks ok but take a look below and let me know. Today the 1601 came in, looks mint. Perhaps lightly polished I was a little concern about the dial setup though watch looks to have different print and the crown is in a different position. The 1601 dates to 1973 based on the serial number. Let me know what you guys think is this a franken. Condition looks amazing a little too good to be true. I am attaching some photos below of both watches. |

Even with the slight variation between the position of the Rolex crown, font type, and font position on the 1601? Is this type of variation on the dials common? I’ve never noticed it before but then again I am not an expert on vintage datejusts. Would love to learn more. Thanks for the help!
