I had the same dilemma two years ago. I was searching for my first PM Rolex and I had my mind set on the DD. But when I got to the AD, I tried them both on and I just couldn’t get past the command presence of the Sky Dweller. Plus, I was only 45 years old. Not saying the DD is an old mans watch because I still want one, but it just seemed to me that the SD was more age appropriate. I really don’t think you can go wrong either way. If you can, try to find the older model with the Romans. They discontinued them this year but I’m sure some AD’s still have them.

I see you’re in San Diego. I bought a 11619LB from Patrick at OC watch guy. He has some brand new Sky Dwellers. You should give him a call. He’s 100% legitimate and a pleasure to work with.

Good luck!

This is a tough call. I prefer the Skydweller but the Day Date is THE Rolex.

DD40 without a doubt. SkyD is too big, and this is from a guy that used to wear PAMs. 40mm is juuuust right.
