The extension is basically one and a half links long with no pivot. Taking it out allows the bracelet to better fit the contours of your wrist

The first thing I did with mine was to remove the dive extension. The Glidelock offers plenty of adjustment for my diving needs. The bracelet will contour to your wrist better and be lighter in weight. There is some steel in that extension link.

I remember transitioning from the AirKing 14010 to the SubC 116610 and thinking the 40mm was so big. Not too long ago, I tried the RLSD on and it just felt so perfect on my wrist. Now I look at the Subs and they just feels so small and dwarfish.
