Rounding out the collection....for now

And thinking about a fourth...

I’ve always been fond of the Tudor GMT and want to add a GMT to the collection since I sold my Seamaster. If I get my hands on the Tudor GMT, it will be for full MSRP as there is a “Waitinglist”.

What are the chances I will sell the Tudor and be whole or not lose much in a year or two if I pay MSRP now?

Noone can answer the question about the future. I think it will hold up about as well as your Omega. More importantly that is a really great combination. The only way to improve it would be with a hell of a lot more money with a Daytona and a vintage Rolex GMT.

I was offered £200 off a tudor if my memory serves me correctly for the tudor gmt when first batch came in.. and that was from goldsmiths of all places

A discount can always be had don’t believe the hype mate

You probably will lose atleast £500 on the tudor if you buy at list, it has become more available and will do even more with time. No chance I would buy a used watch for near rrp, it’s gotta be atleast £500 of more saving, but thats just me.

Even sports rolex - even though theyre advertised at stupid prices everywhere doesn’t mean you will get those prices if you decided to sell any of your rolex either

You might take a look at Grand Seiko. They offer a variety of GMT watches of very high quality at relatively reasonable prices.

I kept my Tudor GMT for 3 months and still lost. Most times you don't win. But I enjoyed the watch, and thats the cost of having fun.

I have a Hamilton day date. Decent watch for the price, unfortunately doesn't get much wrist time.

This is what I'm thinking. As nice as the Tudor GMT is, its very difficult for me to pay MSRP for it. Even tougher considering I didn't even pay retail for the Sub.

If I could get my hands on a BLNR or BLRO, I would be all over it. Was at an AD yesterday and based on their advice, much better chance to buy a winning lottery ticket.

Ironically, I have a buddy that was looking at a few yesterday. Some really nice pieces and the build quality seems great.

I wouldn't buy any watch where my thought process was how much am I going to lose on it when I flip it.

I bought the Tudor GMT because I just fell absolutely head over heels in love with it. I really don't see any other reason to buy a watch. YMMV.

It sounds like the Tudor Gmt would round out your collection nicely. You asked two tough questions: What's the chance of you selling it? If your asking that I'd say 50/50 since that makes you sound unsure. Worth in a year? I'll "guess" If you pay msrp + tax you could lose 800. If you keep it you won't lose a dime. One tip, buy it on bracelet.

Consider the Tudor. You could perhaps pay enough below the BLNR that you won't sell it one day, and you'll have a watch that's been with you on more than a couple of adventures some 10 years down the road.

As previously noted, I wouldn't start out the process wondering about the "flip" you'll just make yourself crazy.

Thanks. And yes, would only consider on bracelet. Would really like to get the BLRO to round out my collectiom, but as we all know, availability is a bit of an issue.

I think if the AD offers me some sort of discount on the Tudor, I’ll pull the trigger

16570 Explorer II has a GMT function and a date. You can have a black or white dial. Or if you want the modern version 216570 you can find used right at around 7K.
