Picked this up to mark my 30th a few months ago. Have had a really difficult year and wanted to do something for myself.

Hey, another YG 18238 silver dial and looks like an A series, 1999/2000.

From what I've read, if its got the SWISS MADE dial it's year 2000.

Here's mine.....

Good Lord, that's THE DD for me! I was previously all about the Roman numerals, but the face looks so much larger with the stick markers. Simply gorgeous. Trés elegant!!

I looked long and hard for the right one as well. The silver tapestry dial is jaw dropping IMO, but couldn't find one from a seller that I was comfortable with. Did find a spectacular one though, but seller couldn't ship to Canada.

Check out the DD YG 18238 with silver tapestry dial.

The stick dials also have Luminova (sp), and if you get the later series, think around 1998/1999, you'll get superluminova, which means, some awesome lume, was surprised first time I saw mine in the dark. Sorry for the crappy pic, was walking when I took it IIRC.

Nice. Mine is actually a 118238. You can tell by the lugs being polished and slightly more bulbous than yours. It’s a 2004-2006 I think (need to check the warranty card), before the lumed stick markers.

Yes, I should know the difference by now.....

One of the aspects I like about Rolex, in many respects, most references don't change much over the decades.

A 4 digit day-date doesn't look much different than a 6 digit.

Absolutely. It's that consistency in the design that makes Rolex so special to me.
