Tbh I would use a Tudor as daily beater or even an Omega.
Or perhaps get a preowned Explorer. |

I'd go for the Exp1. I like the low key under-the-radar factor

DJ41. Classic everyday Rolex watch for decades. I like a little more “pop” in my watch.

The OP should really include the Oyster Perpetual 39 mm as a possibility. It’s kind of a nice middle ground between the Explorer and the DJ 41.

I actually looked at the OP 39 and felt it's not as durable as the 2. Of course it's still a very solid watch but I ruled it out from my list.

I thought about the Aqua Terra as it looks and feels very solid. However given the deal I am getting from the Rolex AD I felt they are better options, as I didn't expect I could actually feel the steel difference between these 2 brands.

Thanks for all the comments. At last, I picked a DJ 41 blue dial with oyster bracelet. I feel my daily activity is not that extreme and the DJ will survive just fine. Plus I was able to get a new one for just under $6100 at the end. I think that's a better all rounder for me that I can still beat it up reasonably if I need to.

Both nice watches but would probably pick the DJ as its a bigger watch. Would get the bracelet brushed too.

126300 DJ has the bigger power reserve which is nice if your going to rotate watches. But the lime on the Explorer is better. Can't go wrong with either though.
