1995 Rolex Submariner Date 16610 Full Set w/ Military Provenance
Rolex's Submariner is synonymous with the concept of a tool watch, and at the same time a classic design icon and one of the most important watches ever made. The watch offered here is the reference 16610 which uses Rolex's unique 904L stainless steel case and is powered by the 3135 caliber COSC certified movement.
The watch offered here is in outstanding condition for its age and looks like it has been seldom worn throughout its life, with a very thick case with crisp brushing and bright polished surfaces, a thick coronet on the bracelet clasp, and an excellent condition bezel insert. This example is special as it has added provenance and came from its original owner who ordered it while in the Navy working as a submariner. The watch was ordered through the AAFES, which allowed deployed military members to purchase goods and services while while on active duty. This watch retains all of its original paperwork and accessories from new, including the original punched papers with country code 902 and stampings for the AAFES. It also includes the original shipping box and customs paperwork from the original exchange order. This is a complete collector's set of a rare one-owner watch with documented military provenance down to the rare 902 code papers that would make any collector proud. Take a look at the photos and our condition description below: Case: 40mm stainless steel case with a W serial number indicating 1995 production, with papers dated December 1995. The case is in excellent condition with minor surface wear as pictured. Bezel: 120 click unidirectional bezel in excellent condition as pictured. The original bezel insert retains the original tritium pearl and is free from any major wear. Dial/Hands: Original tritium dial and hand set in mint condition free from any damage or defects. Crystal: Original sapphire crystal in good condition as pictured. The crystal is free from any major scratches, cracks or chips. There is a very small mark on the cyclops visible in the photos. Caseback: Original caseback in very good condition as shown. Movement: Original Caliber 3135 movement in excellent condition that winds, runs, and sets time as it should. Timekeeping is excellent and the watch comes with service paperwork from a reputable watchmaker dated 2014. Strap: Original 93150 bracelet with "W10" clasp code and 501B end links with all 12 original links (one is currently removed). Bracelet shows minor scratching consistent with wear and has only very light stretch. Accessories: This watch comes as a full collector's set. It includes the original inner and outer boxes, serialized and anchor hang tags, booklets, calendar, leather booklet holder, the original caseback sticker (removed from the watch), and original papers. This watch also includes the original outer shipping box and customs form which was delivered via the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. Price is $8250 shipped insured FedEx overnight CONUS via PayPal or wire (3% discount for wire). US sale preferred, international sales will pay the cost of shipping. Face to face in the Boston area also welcome. I have many references available. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking! |
