You have got a lot more watch (date+gmt+pcl) for $400 - you have done very well in my opinion

Assuming watches are of similar condition, then yes, I think it's a good trade. GMT with the added complication and date is a positive for me.

Seems like a fair deal on money. As for which is the better reference, only you can decide that. I personally like the GMT functions and date.

No you didn't because now you're second guessing yourself. Seeking others approval so that you can assure yourself that you did the right thing.
So probably not unfortunately.

2 great references, no wrong choice IMO.

If you prefer the GMT then yes, irregardless of the money which should be incidental not elemental.

If you need a GMT

And need a 2nd time zone feature then I would say you made an excellent choice!

Given that trade, I'd say you did just fine. Personally, I've tried the no date route with the Tudor Black Bay and ended up selling it off. As others have said you gain 2 useful complications and if you ever wanted the Sub back it wouldn't be hard to get back into one. I would enjoy the new piece and wear in good health.

has the gmt nudged ahead in the sub v gmt friendly rivalry?

A couple of years ago i would have said sub was a slight favourite but i think gmt has taken the lead.

That’s a very relative question!!
Value wise it’s a fair trade
Condition wise, you’re the only one who can tell

The most important decision maker is you! If you want and like the GMT more then absolutely the right decision
They both are sought after and liked pieces

I have both of these exact watches. If I had to give one up, it would be the Sub. And that’s simply because I find myself wearing the GMT much more often. For my lifestyle, the GMT is both more useful and versatile. So it gets worn more, by like a factor of 2 to 1. If I had to give up the sub today, I’d enjoy the GMT, knowing that I could reqcquire the Sub later as a replacement (or even addition) when needs/wants/circumstances warrant.

It sounds to me like what you really want to do now is trade that gmt plus cash for batman.

If you like the GMT, then you made the right choice.
As many have said, from a financial standpoint, that was a solid deal for you. I'd have made that deal and been very happy with it. Enjoy your GMT!
