Sub 114060 Bracelet Ideas

I’m waiting for a 114060 from my local AD and planning to use this as my everyday watch. Just purchased a Sub TT blusey here on TRF and plan to use that as my “dress up”.

I’m thinking that the oyster will be a bit heavy for everyday use and am wondering what others have done with with a strap on a 114060. I’ve seen pics of NATO straps here but not sure that’s a look I like. Any other combos that seem to work for you?

Also is it pretty easy to make the strap/bracelet change myself? Special tools? Have no experience there.

Tolerances are tight. You'll need the proper tool to do so. I suggest you check out everest bands. Fwiw I keep mine on strap, it isn't heavy.

After wearing my 114060 every day for over a year, I’d stick with the bracelet. It’s very comfortable (not heavy) and the glidelock is fantastic. Why spoil a fantastic watch with a cheap strap?

1. The Oyster is very comfortable, not too heavy for everyday use.

2. In my opinion NATO straps should be avoided like the plague, but of course that is just my opinion.

3. I wear mine on an Everest rubber strap and like it very much. There are other makers of rubber straps like rubber B.

4. It not super easy but with a little skill and patience you can change the strap yourself.

I wear my no date SubC about 14 hours a day M-F and also on the weekends. The Oyster bracelet is very comfortable to me and the Glidelock clasp is widely considered the best on the market.

Unlike other watches, I personally don’t think the Submarimer looks good on a NATO strap. Rubber or some of the new nylon straps from Everest look pretty cool though. But I would personally stick with the bracelet it comes with.

Anyone that finds a wristwatch too heavy, especially a SS one, needs to do some weights or other strength increasing exercise.

Everest and RubberB both make great straps; check out their web sites. The change need not be permanent and sometimes it nice to mix things up!!! There are plenty of youtube videos on bracelet changes. It's good to have the right tools however. If you feel uncomfortable making the change consider having a decent jeweler or your AD do it; the AD will likely do it for free. Even if they charge you it will be relatively inexpensive. Much less so then bunging up a new watch!!!
