Tudor Prince Day Date

Guys, I’ve never seen one in person and it’s highly unlikely i will where I live, but I very much admire the Rolex day date. How does this compare? (Precious metal aside)

In my experience, if you find one if great shape, it's an excellent vintage piece at a fraction of the price of the Rolex DD.

I quite fancy it

I love mine. One popped up on eBay with the gold fluted bezel and white face from 1984. I nabbed it immediately. Near mint with super sharp lugs, Rolex markings. No bracelet. So I bought a strap for it.

It's currently at the watchmaker getting overhauled with new gasket, mainspring, reverser wheel, and ball bearing. He lets me source my own genuine parts. He also recommended new crown and crown tube which I agreed to.

The Rolex Day Date is a dream watch of mine. In the meantime, I'll enjoy my Tudor. The movement is a modified ETA 2834 whereas the Rolex is an in house movement. It is is similar looking to the Rolex 1802 reference.

I love my old Tudor Date Day it’s a 7017/0 from 1969, it’s 38mm and I think Rolex should of used that size instead of the 40mm
