You Assistance, Please

Hello All,

I've had numerous posts regarding my next purchase and I think I'm getting closer to it. There are some killer deals out there right now!

So, there are three things I would like to know on the 183 and am hoping all you great folks can help: 1) What is the most current production run- K or J? 2) Does anyone know or have dealings with Chris C over on Paneristi? 3) Would you consider $3800 a good deal for "LNIB" and the 183?

Thanks for all the help!

The letters go in consecutive order so J would be one year older than a K. By the way the J year is the first year for the strap quick release rather than screws on the older models.

ANY Panerai buy is a bargain !!!

J is 2007.K is 2008

$3800 seems fair. The best is to search the net an compare pricing for the 183.

Seems like a good deal to me and as noted. Quick change included. That would be huge for me...

Can someone explain how the quick release works?

I was at my AD the other day looking at the 24 and he told me something about the quick release, he said "now is a lot easier to change the straps, just press here and it will release"

Thanks in advance maybe my question is the wrong question???

Quick release is on Luminors from J serial onward.

Love the system on my 104.Takes 45s to change a strap.I do it often ...

112 is "historic" ~ Screws
104 is "Contemporary" ~ Quick release from J and onwards

Well I think I got the answer I got it from another forum I guess this is it!!

It is a quick release system. Imagine the screw in bar that Panerai uses minus having to screw or unscrew. Simply depress the button hidden under the lug and push the bar out. That is it, you can use a tooth or anything really if you are not near the tool Panerai provides.

The Radiomir does not have quick release....

Just looked at a NIB 183 recently as my dealer is telling me
to go Radiomir instead of Lumior...

The dealer is wrong. Its not Radiomir or Luminor, its Radiomir AND Luminor.

A Base model collection of two eg. 112/111 and a 210,is already a great Panerai collection !! With a few different straps, you will already have a big collection.

Say we take only two SE's,say a 232 and a 127.Now we are talking substantial collection.

At a GTG,we had a friend with a collection of only three,BUT those were the 201A unequal dial,a 195 and a 203 !!!! Now that is a VERY subtantial collection !!!

IMO,its Radiomir and Luminor

You are spot on, there is no quick or easy release on Rads.
