from 2025 gas boilers to be banned
yes, its not a joke,
in the u.k new builds will be banned from having access to the gas grid. And that is as far as i am allowed to take it on this forum. No doubt people (the brainwashed) will be thinking its a good idea. |

Huh. I thought Brexit meant there would be less intrusive regulations, not more?
I actually have no idea if this is a good thing or a bad thing, so, I guess that means I'm not "brainwashed". Maybe it means I don't have much of a brain. ;-) |

This is the same drivel as the alleged ban on combustion engines in 20 years, it is a decision for the government of the time. Any "pledge" by the chancellor has no legal weighting whatsoever.

LOL, "brainwashed"
Whether it is correct or wrong I would guess we will see many regulations of this nature coming in the future.

if you dont live in the uk,
you have no idea of the type of people who are running it, they were once on the fringes being laughed at, like you are ridiculing me, they now run the show, in all public and private spheres. |

It's a jolly good laugh looking at these posts from foreigners telling us how our country should be run yet they have no clue on our system of government.

Who cares whether it is gas or electricity warming the central heating? It can easily be done in new buildings and they are not forcing excisting households to make the switch so it is just a progression towards a society that uses less fossil fuels.

A new house should have solar panels, which considerably lowers energy costs.

I do not know what the cost is on solar panels there but here it takes about 10 years to start recouping your investment. The upfront cost is ridiculous. Even with tax breaks here it is still way to high. The other issue is longevity of the solar panels. Where i live at they constantly get damaged but hail. Which sucks because we get over 300 days of sunshine a year.

I also am unsure how effective heat pumps are with large builds over 10000 square feet. |
