I think big part of this argument is lugs on GMT being brushed. On YM or Daytona the lugs are polished and so are the center links. It creates a contrast. Polished(p)-brushed(b)-p-b-p. If lugs were polished on GMT I bet a lot more people would enjoy PCL on GMT. Question then becomes why does it work on TT, YG and RG then? TT works because it provides enough contrast already with different materials. YG and RG work because color allows it to hide and not be as noticeable as on SS, WG or platinum.
So basically it is different enough to already be noticeable unlike warmer metals, but since lugs aren't polished it looks kinda out of place. Just my opinion of course, but I think it plays a part. If somebody can, edit GMT lugs to be polished and let's see if people like it more with PCL that way. |

I like both PCLs and brushed links. PCLs give a touch of bling while staying conservative. I will admit brushed links suit the Submariner more imho. Cheers!

Rolex put PCLs on the GMT for a reason. Being a “tool watch” doesn’t preclude it from having a little ornamentation.

One of the main reasons I went with the BLNR over the hulk, I Personally prefer the PCLs to brushed. Although I find them hard to keep clean!

I have two with PCLs, and they still look good. Minimal scratches after a couple of years.

I love the SS PCL's on my Sky-Dweller! I'm careful with my watches and find the SS PCL's don't get scratched up at all. The gold PCL's on the Bluesy got marked up by looking at them.
