30 year old Datejust perfect for daily use

This Datejust 16234 with 30 years is my daily watch and I am very happy. It is comfortable and the scratches are not noticeable in the striated bezel nor in the jubilee.
I use it for everything. Work, country, beach, dinner...

The DateJust inadvertently became the perfect Rolex. Anything more is too much, anything less is not enough. The unassuming DJ will take you through life's adventures with beauty, strength, style and most importantly with competence.

A DJ tells the world you're not trying to impress anyone you just require the best possible timepiece to perform the functions your life dictates. And, to a thinking man, that's the most impressive thing of all. :)

Enjoy!

1968 1603...still beautiful after all these years. :)

Vintage datejust are amazing for every day wear. I may be biased because I have super slender wrists so the vintage 36mm fits just right. In addition it’s styling has changed very little through the years and it still looks great!

Really good looking watch, and as you said the scratches are barely visible yet part of this unique item

My 16238 white roman is my daily. Only in the few years have I added others that are worn sparingly. I wear it running my weedeater and think how many folks do that with their 16238. I giggle eat time I scrub the dried grass off its face at the end of the day.

Thanks for sharing. Love the Datejust. Mine is over 15 years old and still performs as it did when I first bought it.

Love DJ, it really seems to be the classic Rolex. This is my fathers from 1989, my most prized piece.

Classic, Rolex. My SS 36mm DateJust is 20 years old. It gets more wrist time on my 7 1/2 inch wrist, than my SS Submariner Date. 36mm DateJust Models are in my opinion, the quintessential Rolex.

They are a design icon imho.

I bought mine in 2005 (might have been 06?) for $600 and its from the 70's. I will get around to getting it serviced, though it just keeps on running.

Love the Jubilee bracelet, such a nice change from the Oyster. Probably my cheapest watch, but its my "Posh Watch".

Great posts in this thread. Looking at pictures of vintage DJ's was how I found TRF. They age very well, classic.

When I saw the first picture for the first time, I decided the frame of the clock face is partly green and it's a special edition.
