Congratulations on your beautiful new Daytona. Rolex blue dials are stunning and offer a lovely nuance to the watch.
White gold is elegant and understated. It's also gold. Nice! I think you made an excellent choice...and I am a lucky owner of the runner up in your little contest. I am astounded that these watches are going for double retail. I bought mine when that model was first released. I was lucky. My "go to" dealer knew I had an interest and called to ask if I was ready to buy...she had a shot at getting one, though she didn't know what dial color it would be. I paid for it up front, not knowing whether it would be white or black dial and not caring. They're both terrific. As it happened, it was the white dial. I still have the ceramic's predecessor, also white dial. I still wear both. Not at the same time, though! These days, I enjoy the two watches equally. They are so similar, yet quite different, at least to my eyes. I wear whichever one strikes my fancy on a given day. One nice thing about not having a date complication--it's easy to quickly set the watch and go. You may have an opportunity to get the white dial down the road. If you choose to keep both, I'm sure you will find you appreciate both of them. Your favorite will be whichever one you wear on any given day. Enjoy in the best of health and for years to come. |
