Watches Of Switzerland (uk) now offering a further 5 year guarantee on Rolex

Incase you haven’t yet seen/heard, from June 3rd, all new Rolex purchases at Watches of Switzerland (in the UK at least) will come with an additional 5 year guarantee from the retailer after the 5 year Rolex guarantee expires, so effectively meaning Rolex will now come with a 10 year guarantee.

That is a good deal but you have to have inventory before it really applies. Thanks for the information.

I think they are the biggest AD in UK? Aurum Group.
So I think they get the stuff......just don't sell it to you and me!

When I asked to buy a BLRO earlier at WOS this year they added me to ‘a notification of interest’ which is about 6-8 years. Perhaps now they guarantee I will get it in 10 years!

I'm not a big fan of the chains any more so I would rather have the work done by RSC and pay whatever the fee, imagine it will be like haggling with an insurer when the time comes with them.

It sounds like a pretty worthless gesture if you cannot even get a hold of the watch you want to buy directly from that WOS AD chain.

The only people who will benefit will be the Grey dealers who have and receive the steady stream of stock from WOS sources after the 3rd June.

On the three occasions (Past 18 months) I have looked at watches at Grey dealers, the watches were all originally sourced at a WOS or Goldsmiths UK AD, All wearing stickers, warranty cards and Tags.

Is that guarantee transferable, I wonder?

It looks pretty worthless on closer inspection. There are lots of caveats - excluding wear and tear etc, which is a very grey area. I would expect lots of wiggle room and in reality it’s just another attempt to secure your business (to attempt to buy a watch they can’t supply).

Exactly as described 3 posts prior. I’ve seen the exact same trend and it’s quite sad to see. For good measure the staff will then lie to your face and say none have come in or worse still go out the back and look busy when you come in store and hide there until you leave. I’m done with the Aurum group.

Completely agree, I’m also don’t bother with them, it’s just a shame as they must get by far the biggest allocation of Rolex in the UK.

The other positive people may not appreciate is that they no longer keep the papers and cards in the US. I truely believe that was holding back their sales
