<<< Havana Overnight >>>

Last week I had the pleasure of spending a night in Havana, Cuba as a stop on the Norwegian Sun.

We took a tour of Havana which included a walking tour, mojito making class with lunch, and finally a classic car tour around more parts of the city.

A beautiful place to see with very nice people. However, it was sad to see the conditions many people lived in and we did our best to help out where we could.

Enjoy the pics

It's worth the trip, although it will be more difficult now if you're an American

I remember we talked about it a few months back. Sorry to hear you missed Cuba. I'm sure you will still have a great time on your cruise though.

Cohiba's were a bit out of my cigar budget range. Brought back a bunch of other great sticks though.

I brought back a box of 10, split a box of 25, and brought back some singles.

Hey Troy, nice pics! Tell, me. At anytime did you feel unsafe there? I speak Spanish which helps me blend a little when in a South American or other Spanish speaking country, but I’m still a fat-white Gringo. So I am always careful of course, but did you sense any uncomfortable situations? Since you wore your Pepsi I am thinking probably not

That first pic looks like a Kodachrome shot from the 1950s. You fit right in with that car

Haha thanks Paul. I'm also a very white Gringo and found the city to be very safe. I contemplated wearing my pepsi but ultimately decided to because, hey, that's what these watches are for

You would fit in just fine I'm sure

Thanks, I actually bought it when I visited Pearl Harbor a few years back

Thanks Adam

Looking at the cars was one of the best parts of the trip!

I recently spent a week there solo, and my first time to the island. It’s mostly safe in the tourist areas but there will be people trying to hustle and some can get a little pushy. Also down around the cruise ship areas you’ll need to watch for pick pockets. The only time I was really on guard was walking through central havana (the slum) early mornings and late at night. But it’s mostly safe there (wore my deepsea)

I also experienced some hustles/pushiness but I didn't feel unsafe. Common sense goes a long way -- just like anywhere else.

I really didn't stray too far from the touristy areas so I can't say too much about that.

Very cool ! I’m first generation Cuban-American and my wife was born in Cuba. We would both like to visit. Out of respect for our parents who struggled mightily to leave and endured many hardships to give us a better life, we won’t until they have passed.

That's a very respectful gesture by you and your wife
