116710LN (Black GMT IIc) Trade - Opinions

Hi all,

Just looking for some opinions.

I had a 116710LN for a few years and then when I got a call for my 5167, I sold it to fund some of the 5167 figuring I barely wear GMT so may as well offload it.

Now after a few months of having a super thin Patek on a bracelet/rubber I am not really wearing the PAM or even the Speedy.

Just by chance I dropped into my local AD that I hadn't seen in forever to leave my mother.in-laws Datejust to get serviced.
I told him I was a bit bummed that I sold my LN.
He than said... "Well I have a few LN's in the back, last delivery. Let me know if you want one"
I was shocked!

I don't have funds budgeted for it, but then I thought, I could trade in my Speedy and PAM to grab the GMT for me an a Cartier or something for the Mrs.

What would you guys do?

so no additional cash on top of PAN and speedy for GMT and a Cartier for the mrs.?

if so, this is a no brainier for me. I would do the trade in a heart beat.

These are the last NIB LNs that will worth somebody's arm and leg later if you ever sell it in the same BNIB state in the future, especially now Rolex permanently discontinued black bezel LN. I'd put in it credit card ASAP

You need a fourth box. That's the one I'll check which is do what YOU want to do. Me? The LN was my first. The noir is far and away my favorite bezel color and I love the almost hidden floating green GMT hand. It's Rolex's color and it won't be back. When the LN returns, and it will, it will be either a blue or red hand in my opinon. Plus, it was the first GMT updated with the newer case and ceramic. There's no way I'll ever part with mine. But I love mechanical watches for what they are and only buy what I want after thought and careful research. But that's just me.

Buy the GMT instantly, sell both of your Omegas and your IWC and get your wife a Cartier or even better a classic DJ and see if you Can justify / afford keeping the 5167A

Yup! Trade them! GMT is still a good deal at MSRP, and since they have a few in the back why not let them ship one to me

Haha thanks but the Seamaster was my graduation gift to myself and I love it!
The IWC I love and was the second watch that I bought with absolutely no feeling of regret. It’s a keeper.
The 5167 is the third watch ever I bought with no regrets.
So the panerai and speedy shall move.

I’ll talk with my AD tomorrow and keep you all updated.

I do want the GMT not because of any hype or anything. Just bummed that I don’t have my old one. So the opportunity to replace it and get something for the lady is a bonus in my mind.

Alright! Trade done.
Speedy plus a little cash for the GMT.

Decided against Pam trade as I would have taken an absolute bath on that where as I came out good with just the speedy.
Pick the GMT up tomorrow.
Can’t wait! :D

Do it. Grab that bad boy quick.

I’ve got a nice collection of GMT’s in nearly all the combos available and the LN is the best daily all round by far.

If you can still get one then don’t pass up the opportunity.

Superb. What a fantastic time to land on your thread

A cool clean trade, you did very well indeed. The LN is absolutely killer

Was in the casino a few weeks ago playing a poker tournament, I was wearing my beaten up explorer 2, and an older gentleman player across who was a very cool and funny guy, had the 6 digit LN and oh boy, it just pops like crazy, especially under casino table lights. As a BLNR owner, although don’t wear it often, seeing the LN in the wild looking so crisp and assertive is a great sight to see

Perfect watch IMO. Great collection you have now

Massive photo inbound :)

Thanks for the inputs everyone!
Great to have one back in the stable. Even if it’s only been 3 months since parting with my old one.
