New Rolex, not +2/-2

Quick question. I just picked up a brand new Sub from AD. Immediately brought it home and connected it to my Lepsi and its running +4. My other watches run +2/-2 on this same device... Recommendations?

Yes, unhook it from the machine and wear it

After a week or so if there is still a problem have it adjusted

Believe it or not the two things most computers can’t do very well is keep time accurately and add up numbers.

Hmmmm...I had never heard that. Interesting. Welp, I guess Seiko built a pretty good computer, if its that accurate!

-2+2 is an average of five tested positions. Dial up, dial down, crown down, crown left and crown up.

Did you test in five positions and take the average or just test one position?

This! Should be a sticky... People don’t realize that if on your winder it is +4 and on the wrist it is -4, it is technically keeping perfect time.

Also +4 is not enough of a reason to have anyone tamper with your watch IMO (even Rolex who will 99% do a perfect job)... for the 1% they scratch it or worse, save it until service time.

Wait some time, give it 2-4weeks. Your watch has 5 year warranty...

Exactly this.

I have never checked my own but I could not care less about how accurate my Sub is, I'm too still much too busy being grateful and overjoyed that I actually got a new SS Rolex from an AD at retail in this climate.

Give it some time. After about 6 months, my DSSD settled in to an accuracy of about +1 per day, maybe a bit better, whereas when I first got it, it was about -2 to -3 per day. I’m impressed with its accuracy now.

Wow!
Have owned Rolex/Automatic watches since 1994.
Have no clue what the heck you are talking about.
Have never wondered if any of my watches functioned as designed, to spec.
I must be one happy go lucky fool.
Please........enjoy the watch and throw away those nonsense devices.
Life is way, way too short for this nonsense.
What the heck has this world come to?

It’s nice that you don’t care, but many of us want a $10,000 watch to amaze us with its accuracy. I have a $100 Seiko 5 that runs 4.5 seconds slow, I want more from a Rolex and they say they can do better in their marketing. That being said I have a couple of new Rolexes that are outside of their spec and I wouldn’t do anything about it. Neither would I worry about older models, but I am a bit happier when I see my watches meet or exceed expected deviations than when they dont.

I know that i am a picky guy on my watches, but +4 is something i would not be concerned about. Specially because i swap daily between them. At this rate you have to set it 5 minutes back after ten weeks. So thats not really an issue if you have an Sub date, because you have to change the date anyway in the 30 days months ;)

My DJ has the same issue, +8 everyday, so I brought it back to RSC and they fixed it. Regulation issue they said. Some new watches may have such problem.

I’ve never tested mine. As long as it tells time I’m ok.

Don’t ask for advice about accuracy on this forum. You are likely to be derided for actually expecting the accuracy performance that is advertised by Rolex.

A popular myth. Rolex, rather carefully, said it met such specs when tested on their machines at the factory. Because actual use on the wrist varies hughly, there will always be variations. Can’t be avoided.
If you want real precision buy a spring-drive or quartz. My quartz GS is guaranteed to five seconds a year, a year, not a day or two, so I find the obsession with mechanical precision slightly comic.
Enjoy your Rolex for what it is, a miraculous assembly of cogs, wheels and springs. In those terms, it;s brilliant.

Lol I know right!

Plus, his watch, his money, he decides if it’s worth it to get it fixed or not.

I’ve seen members get on someone’s case for expecting what Rolex advertises lol

It’s crazy.
