Vintage but not Rolex related

I promised dP some pics of my vintage Heuer collection from back in the day and here are a couple pieces I used to call "Jo and Steve"
If you know Heuer you'll get it. If not I'm just an idiot who names his watches.

This is the gray dial Dan was asking about

And finally this one is the best sale I ever made.
The lady (and one of People magazine's 50 most beautiful people) who bought it is someone I now consider a dear friend and confident.
Love ya Patty

Best,
Mike

Mike, if it's not Rolex-related it doesn't belong in the Rolex section. I'm moving it.

Nice Heuers there Mike.

People often forget the iconic designs that Heuer developed. A lot of people don't know Heuer's leading role in developing chronographs for wristwatches. Those 3 models have a hell of a pedigree.

I get it. Great examples. The condition of that Monaco is unreal.

Mike you have a nice collection.
I think that most of us will recognise the Monaco and relate it with Steve.
I have just read an article about the Autavia.
If I remember correctly, the reason why they placed the crown on the L/H/S of the watch, was to remind their owners that the watch was an automatic.
Also I understand that they re-released it not so long ago to celebrate an anniversary. Which at the present moment escapes me, what the anniversary was.

Nice Heuers, Mike. Here's my champagne dial 73655 circa 1972, fresh from an overhaul. The tachy ring is a bit different from yours. I just need to hunt down a correct strap and buckle for it now.

Here's my "Steve McQueen" Monaco reissue. Not nearly as cool but still get lots of enjoyment out of it.
Love those true Heuers.

Tony,
Thanks, I used to have a nice Heuer collection as these are all watches I sold in 2006 when I got out of the vintage scene.

I have seen old advertisements stating that but the real reason is because the cal.11 or 12 movement is a modular micro-rotor monstrosity that is so thick it was necessary to arrange it like this. Arguably the world's first automatic chronograph but definitely not the best.

I'm not current enough on the brand these days to know of any anniversary models. The reason this white dial with blue accents is called Jo is because these were all referred to as "Jo Sifferts" for the famous 1970's race car driver who wore that exact same model.

Best,
Mike
