Icon5 Using the same AD

Assuming that you're going to buy new and not grey, do you care if your watches are all purchased from the same AD? For example, if you found a model that you've been searching for while on vacation, would you pass in the hopes of getting that same model via your go-to AD, or is the idea of "all watches having matching warranty card ADs" a ridiculous thing to strive for?

I found a few threads covering this topic, but none with a poll to organize sentiments.

And yes, if it wasn't obvious, I'm a little OCD :)

I try to buy from my local AD but if I find a watch at an AD while on vacation then given current circumstances I would buy the watch from the other AD without hesitation.

I'm not an impulse/FOMO buyer. When I want something I ask for it and my AD gets it. Loyalty has been good for both of us.

+1. Because of my relationship with my AD, I have stopped the roaming around to ADs while on vacation or traveling for work. I am fortunate to have the feeling of confidence that If I want something, they will come through with a short wait

I couldn't care less where my warranty cards are from AD-wise. As long as I got the watch I wanted new, I'd be happy. Can't speak for your OCD though, or if you're looking to build a relationship to purchase a high-demand piece.

I have my two go to ADs in opposite hemispheres. If I come across a piece I’m after at another location, I’ll call them first to confirm if they have or can get it. Usually they tell me to go ahead to purchase at said place given today’s market conditions. They don’t have any hard feelings and are encouraging.

Relationships and purchase history tend to get the latest and greatest pieces. Stick with one AD if they are meeting your needs.

If I could come across pieces to purchase that I want in my collection, why would I not buy it? Problem is no one seems to report that they found an AD with stock.

I genuinely like the person I deal with at my AD so I'm loyal to them.

I used to be loyal and it served me well but it no longer does. Ownership has changed and its just not the same vibe. I've tried to establish as many relationships as I could and will now buy from whoever can get me what i want.

Couldn't care less about which AD I use .Loyalty from a consumer is something an AD really counts on in the long term , but to the AD a sale is a sale & there seems to be little or no loyalty to the average customer recently .As is proven time & time again recently on this forum by the amount of posts along the lines of , my AD said if I spent 20k on jewellery they might consider putting me on a waiting list .

Bah humbug to all ADs that treat their loyal customers like Mugs say I .

I like my local AD. They've taken care of me very well from my first purchase with them up to this point. I still go in to other AD's to see what they have and if they have something that my AD doesn't have in the display case to try on. I've skipped offers for desirable pieces from other AD's just so I can wait for my AD to deliver (so far wait is not too long).

I agree with you in that the customer/AD "loyalty" dynamic only works in small markets. In big markets, you have to be a serious VIP to get allocations.

Doesn’t really matter to me. I don’t love or hate the AD I have used in the past. To be honest I have better luck sourcing my watches without them.

I’ve used the same AD for about 20 years. I get the watches I want and opportunities for hot watches I didn’t even ask for. Loyalty has to work both ways. I’m not a “whale” buyer, but I am consistent.

I've bought from 4 different AD's and would gladly stick with 1 if they could get me what I want. Unfortunately they can't.

This is how I feel. There’s no supply, you’ll wait forever with only one outlet

Using the same AD

All.from one AD because they have gotten me everything I want and usually less 12 months, which is pretty fast considering BLRO and daytonas

I don't really care what warranty card says from.what AD as long as it has my name on it

I have relationships. But that don’t mean shit. They play us all. Saying will get me the next one, yet I find out they keep supplying the big fish with deals who drop big coin.

I use my local AD if possible. They take a good care of me. Inform if they have some interesting coming in, free of charge demagnetize, free preassure test (4 times already).
But if something truly wonderful would be found somewhere else only, why not.

You can’t exchange a good relationship. That said, make sure your local ad knows what you did so that they will be more appreciative about your business

I try to remain loyal to a couple of Ads that ive bought from but my patience only goes so far die to the current climate.
Ive bought else where when the opportunity arises and made no secret to my Ads and they understand......it gets me off there backs too.
If my Ad could get anything I wanted quickly id definitely buy exclusively from them....one of them in particular

I'm a patient guy, and loyal, so I have not had to stray from my local AD for anything that I've wanted over the years. I'm also not an impulse buyer and put a lot of time in to my decisions either way before deciding to pull the trigger or not. The only watches I've bought that were not from my AD have been vintage pieces, and even then, the work/service that those watches required has passed through my AD.

All of that said, if I came across a GMT II Pepsi while on vacation and was offered to buy at MSRP, I'd take the offer.

Using the same AD

I don’t reward mediocrity. I would try to deal with someone I know, but the second that a better option came up, I would take it. (If you think this is cruel, ask yourself how those wait lists really work).
