RX8 Golden Shield?

Hi all,

I saw this advertisement on Facebook and I was wondering whether anyone has used RX8 on their watches? It looks like a nice way to prevent scratches on the bracelet, given that ADs are directed to remove all stickers at point of sale.

Thoughts?

This has been discussed extensively as of this week. I'd recommend searching!

I searched rx8 and rx-8 without any hits before posting. Any tips on What tags I should be searching?

It’s because most simply discuss the idea in general instead of brand name. From my brief research there are three main companies who make such a product, YOLO, Wrist Guard, and Watch Shell. Check out this thread for some real life pics. YOLO seems to be the most comprehensive and well designed.

The stickers may seem like a good idea at first, but you need to have a very steady hand to apply, and not mention the eventual dirt build up along the edges. The stickers also change the shimmer of the brushed areas, so it’ll look a bit awkward at certain angles. Some on here only apply a film to the clasp cover as it’s a high impact zone and leave the rest bare. I’m a huge advocate for car paint protection film as it’s a similar concept, but you can’t wrap edges on watches like cars. Remember most scratches and dings, etc can be polished out during major service. Practicing wrist awareness is the best option IMO. Hope this helps.

No I haven’t used it but they over-advertise this product on local Aussie groups and it has left a sour taste in many peoples mouths. The people on the main forum group in Australia have asked to have it remove everytime it is uploaded

You only live once so why not spend half an hour sticking bits of plastic all over your watch so it looks like &#%£?

What the hell? Is there a secret sticker conspiracy going on in an effort to drive us all crazy?
