Everything is crossed.

I spoke to JJ last night and have never heard him so despondant.

Claire, William and I are wishing upon every star and dreaming every dream that young Ronan pulls through this.

Thanks for starting up this beautiful thread, Mireyna.....very thoughtful of you.

If you can consider it good news (don't know yet ), Ronan was discharged from Hospital the same day (yesterday) and is back home. They had placed him on a liquid diet. He was so dehydrated that his heart-rate had gone through the roof!!

Well, he has lost around 17 whopping pounds since all this began and urgently needs to recover at least some of that lost weight!!

With your combined good thoughts, prayers and wishes, I'm sure he'll pull through.

Thanks once again, everybody - you guys are the BEST!!!

JJ

Thanks, Gerardo......but, like I said, we don't know how good or bad the news is yet.

He's at home right now, but his immunity system is all shot to hell!!!

He is so weak and dehydrated that he's now susceptible to any and every infection floating around......like a China Vase, extremely fragile and brittle!!

He needs to recover around 80% of his strength and weight.

JJ

I understand JJ; but I strongly believe that home makes your health improve faster and better than ANY hospital. Home is where your family is, it is your place. Nothing beats a home made meal and your own bed and pillow. I know he will recover faster, rest more and feel great in no time. Plus, all the forum is with him in our thoughts!!!

That's right....I do agree......but with Ronan, food has become his biggest nemesis. We are still not 100% sure as to which foods he can tolerate and which ones trigger him off!!

It's terrible - his DIET is the biggest problem and we are doing everything we can to monitor it.

Good luck Ronan. We're rooting for you to recover and become strong and healthy.

JJ, What dietary changes have the Doctors made? What have they recommended?
Can he eat plain white rice and plain chicken without any seasonings at all?
Have they tried gluten? Lactose? Seeds and skins?
What have they eliminated? What are they looking for?
I certainly understand your frustration. You need help. You need answers. Ronan sure is lucky to have you all working so hard in his best interest.

Lactose and sugar are sheer "poison" for him. Gluten is okay. He can eat rice and chicken, but not together. For example, rice with vegetables, chicken by itself - NOT fried!! Gotta be flame-grilled or BBQ'd.

As for other things, we need to go by trial and error until we can establish what suits him and what "triggers" him off.

Well, with time, hopefully we can get his diet eventually straightened out.

JJ

Well, at least that's a start. A little plain rice, later a little boiled chicken... the poor kiddo must be starved!

We'll keep sending out those positive thoughts, prayers, and best wishes to Ronan. Stay strong and positive, JJ. I can only imagine how hard it is on everyone, especially you since I have a feeling your family looks to you for strength and hope in difficult times. It's just your nature and one of the reasons we all admire you here on TRF. Stay strong, friend.
