It has been 10 years
I reached a milestone a couple of days ago, and forgot. It was ten years ago...
9/9/9. Deliberately chose that date to quit because it was easy to remember. Yet on the 10th anniversary, I forgot, haha. Brain cells. Apparently much less now than back then. Just an encouraging message to those trying to quit. It's easy if you do what I did. Just turn to alcohol. (Just kidding) |

Congrats! That’s a big deal, they say that’s the hardest one. I quit drinking when i was 25 after i woke up and decided i was done. It took me at least 5 or more times to quit chew. Tobacco is a tough one, well done!

Congrats. I kicked it about that long ago. Was about the 20th time I quit before it stuck.

9 is synonymous with forever in Chinese. It’s a good omen.

Yes well done. Excellent milestone I too am working towards. Smoked about 2 packs a day for 10 years, quit cold turkey 9 months ago. Dont plan on going back. Whole reason I quit was to buy a rolex. And got my first used explorer II a few months ago. Still on the list but couldnt wait. Congratulations!

Good for you. I quit three years ago this month after 35 years. Still get the urge sometimes.

Congrats, same here, was on 3 packs a day for years, tried quitting many times and finally did it, tried gum, patches etc didnt work, cold turkeys the way to go. Cant quite remember the date and not exactly sure how many years altho I do remember the moment I quit as if it was yesterday. And yup I do get the urge sometimes but I make it a point to inhale some 2nd hand smoke once in a blue moon to remind me what Im not missing.

I think I last used tobacco in 2004? Something like that. Can’t say I miss it at all.

I started smoking when I was 13. I smoked a pack and a half a day for 33 years. I'll be smoke free for ten years come February.
What a nasty addiction. I'm so grateful I stopped. I felt I was approaching the point of no return as far as my health was concerned. Randy |

Huge congrats.
I’m on approximately 5 years. I could not imagine being a smoker. It’s the worst.

Good for you OP, and everyone else who has successfully quit smoking. For those of you still struggling. There are a lot of cessation programs out there that are free.
And for the Rolex lovers, quitting a pack a day is a new Rolex every 3 years. AOW |

I quit 5 years ago. Second real attempt to stop. Long story short, watching my daughter’s school show with ex-wife who smelt like an ashtray! Came home said to current wife I’m giving up tomorrow. Used a vape for 1 week until lung infection set in. Recovered and never smoked again. I still get vertigo from time to time which is the only symptom left from giving up.
