I don’t have a Sub yet, and my DS is currently in time out (it’s scheduled to be a 50th birthday gift. I do have 3 other dive watches. Suites and bracelets are ok for me, suites and bands are a no go. That said, there are times that a more stealth watch might feel more appropriate, likewise there are times when a more bold watch may be the perfect choice. At this point I suspect my Airking will get plenty of future wrist time due to it being invisible, while utterly inappropriate, I have an upcoming wedding I really want to take the SD43 to.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the Sub and suit combo. With so many great dress watches on the market, I don't see why the Sub is even a feasible option. But, to each their own.

Guys, I just asked my wife. She says we can wear our subs with a suit. So it's settled.
LOL!

James Bond did it. That's seriously how it became acceptable. It can be done but really shouldn't. I wouldn't begrudge anyone doing it if they wear a suit every day and would be limited to weekend wear if they didn't. However there are times when colourful bezels and large glowy indices are out of place. Some would consider disrespectful even borderline rude.
A boss of mine once wore bright coloured G -Shocks with a suit and I thought he looked a %^&*.

I wear mine everyday, from shorts and a t-shirt to a suit. If you can wear brown shoes with a gray suit now a days, you can wear a sports watch with anything.

Sub works with a suit perfectly. I wear one everyday for work. Saying that a suit shouldn't be worn with a watch on bracelet is just snobbery.

I don’t wear a suit, but I do wear a shirt and tie most days. I love subs and I would wear mine with anything from a suit to a T-shirt. I know they call them “sport” watches, but I think they go with everything. It’s a Rolex for gosh sake. Wear it, enjoy it. Be a fashionista!!!

You can absolutely wear a Sub as a dress watch. Look at all the unconstructed Italian suits, light and sporty as it gets. American cut with padded shoulders not so much, though....

Must be some mirror effect but I can't figure it out. Why is the date window on the wrong side?

Yeah, I do. Though I haven’t had occasion to wear a suit since I got my Submariner last year, I can’t think of an outfit from which I’d shy wearing it. It’s relatively small, thin, and conservative—having a bezel doesn’t keep me from wearing one with a suit. I’ve worn my Speedmaster, Monaco, and Black Bay with a suit before. No big deal. It’s not like suits are even formalwear anyway. Maybe with a tuxedo I’d think twice, but even then, I’d probably wear it, my Speedmaster, or my Monaco.

These watch fashion rules are just made up by a bunch of old, dead people anyway.

I wear my sub with everything. But, lucky for me, I never wear a suit now. Last time over two years ago, probably 5 years ago for a tie.

Yes! There are a couple of fashion rules I like to break and this is one. I find that the 5 digit works better than the 6 digit (supercase) in a dress type situation...

Rolesor Yachtmaster for evening attire. Submariner or Explorer 2 when relaxing. GMT or SkyD during the day. Omegas when I think I might scratch my watch ie gardening, working on the car. I wear my other Rolexes sparingly.
