I borrowed a friend's Saxonia Outsize Date and did a detailed visual comparison of his pink gold version with my white gold one. Hopefully this can be of use to anyone trying to pick between white and pink gold.

Recently fell in love with the A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Thin Copper Blue. What a great looking watch, and what a shame its discontinued.

Can anyone recommend an entry Lange that has that little bit of special something to it?

Unless I'm mistaken, the standard white gold 39mm copper blue saxonia thin is still in production.

Thanks...the dial is truly a chameleon depending on the light.

In fact, this watch is amazing. A simple mechanism with a power reserve, and a three-level dial with a wonderful texture of the dial, which, depending on the lighting, sometimes looks like a porcelain pane, other times this very fine grit is arranged in the sun's rays so that you can't stop looking at it. If you want to get it, do it, and fast!

I'm bouncing between this one, the Chrono, and VC Cornes de Vache RG. The opaline dials are dreamy.

Love all three references. After trying all of them, my rational side (crazy I know) has kind of settled on the 1815 U/D for a few reasons:
I love the clean layout and dial
Since my lifestyle doesn’t call for a dress watch very often I feel this one can be dressed up or down.
Given how often I’ll wear it, I don’t want to sink too much cash into it
I’ll probably go pre owned with something like this to save a few $$…

With so many models and variants available, and so little inventory, how does one select a watch?
I saw a couple on their website that look great, but how should I proceed from there? Chase it down (boutique, 2nd hand), try it on, rinse & repeat?

Does anyone know what the current retail $ is on the 1815 chronograph?

Website masks their price, and there have definitely been increases since I last checked

You can check current prices in the "Historic Data" or "Annual Prices" tab on the spreadsheet at http://goo.gl/vWFC7Q.

very nice find.

Found this Saxon Annual Calendar to be pretty cool. Burdeens Chicago Michigan avenue location. Great service and amazing selection of watches.

Hi all, looking for some advice there on a recent Lange purchase.

I've recently come into possession of a pre-owned, but essentially unworn current year Datograph up-down. All checked out good at the point of purchase, but upon inspection at a later date, there was dust particles that had migrated to the underside of the sapphire, as well as on the dial that are visible with the naked eye (pic attached).

While checking with the local boutique to see if this could have this rectified, the standard 4-6 month turnaround time was quoted given that the piece would need to be sent back to Glashutte. Though I understand that this is expected for a standard service request, I had hoped that a warranty repair which looks to be a potential QC issue could be expedited, particularly for such a new watch. Hence, just wanted to hear some thoughts if it's worth checking in again with the boutique again whether anything could be done to speed up the process, or if there are other possible avenues of redress I could pursue.

At worst I'd wait it out, but it's just a little discomforting to have enjoyed the piece for a few days only to have it away for such a long time after spending a good sum of money on it. Thanks in advance of any inputs!

This doesn’t find its way into the work rotation too often, but I am enjoying it!
