I guess the South Korean coach’s plan didn’t work out. Still, you have to give him an A for effort lol

Terrific game! England easily could have had a 3-4 goals.

I'm Romanian. I have to be optimist and hopeful we'll ever make it back to a major tournament haha Otherwise I'd drown in sorrow after every qualifiers game good show by England so far, though missing some goals.

this is hilarious. But it goes hand in hand with the stereotype (which I will not type here as I adhere to forum rules

Was looking at their website while ago, prices are ridiculous.

Well done England! So many missed opportunities but won in the end.
Good on ya Kane!

Well after watching the England game, I’ll say they didn’t look great. Besides getting goals from Kane (as you would expect) the offense looked stagnant. Why they chose to keep going on the left side with Young crossing balls, which he really didn’t do much of, instead of Trippiers side who is also a better crosser then young I’ll never understand. Heck their best offensive player besides Kane was McGuire and he is a defensive player. They squirmed it out tho but they showed holes in the team

Kane saved the day, most definitely. Deserved win in the end, for sure, but England has to be much better at taking their chances in the coming games

Loftus cheek made a huge difference when he came on. He needs to start the next game. Get rid of sterling and bring on Welbeck

Lingard was very poor tonight. Rashford must start the next game.

This could have ended way worse then Saudi Arabia's 5-0 loss to Russia.

England have limped pathetically out of too many tournaments for me to be bothered in the slightest about the performance. The result is king, nothing else matters. Let’s just get into the knockout phase where anything can happen.

How can we put a price tag on the pinnnacle of Italian luxury hooligan gear?

Will be interesting to watch the England vs Belgium match. Lukaku vs Harry Kane goes head-to-head.

Definitely say that Belgium looked *much* more convincing.

but at the end of the day, everybody can't forget this was the first match. Everybody just getting warmed up. 2nd match days can showcase an entirely different squad.

I’m probably looking way too far ahead but the way things are shaping up in the Germany group, England vs Belgium will be the match both teams want to lose. Group winner likely gets Brazil in the QF. Second place looks like getting Mexico, Switzerland or Serbia if they get through the last 16 match.

What a great tournament so far. The world cup is, by far, the world's greatest sporting event! I'm biased, of course, but heck, at no other time are people ON THE EDGE of their seats all over the world.

Portugal X Spain has been the best match so far, imo. What a game.

Was a little disappointed with Brazil's performance yesterday, despite the clear foul on the tie and the penalty that should have been awarded.

Great expectations as to what comes next. Hoping we meet Germany again soon. Can't wait.

I agree! It's an amazing tournament and I take great pleasure in watching the games. Set up a little tournament with my friends as well! This month is Football + Beer

God bless King Kane! England's best player since Gazza and the best striker in the world for me. Lingard, Sterling and Rashford are fast and cause lots of trouble but can't finish for sh1t, no composure at all, so thank God Kane got the chances or we would have lost again in a game we should have won by three or four. A win over Panama and we don't have to worry about Belgium.

Kane is ten times better. I see Lukaku every week for Utd and he's not as good as I was hoping, he looks like Stormzy and plays like Heskey.

But De Bruyne and Hazard are better than anything England have elsewhere, De Bruyne was the best player I've seen all season, absolute magician.

Agreed! Doesn’t matter how you get the result. As long as you get it!

The worldcup is a special tournament. I remember my first worldcup That I could go to the pub with my mates. What a summer. This year it’s my nephews turn, he’s 19 and loving it. I wish I knew how to share a video of him from last night, it’s priceless

Or if that was a penalty then Kane had two for being wrestled to the ground. Referees have to be consistent, can't pick and choose as that will always favour the likes of Brazil and disfavour the likes of England.

Rather than this VAR system I prefer each team has two challenges per half that they have to make within 30 sec or a minute of the incident. Like American football or cricket or tennis. That way the teams are responsible for having the nous to get the right decisions made or not, not some arbitrary guy in the sky.

I remember Euro 96 and the nation was buzzing, much like the Olympics, and last night it felt a bit like that too. I was dining at a fancy restaurant and even there the servers kept coming over to get the latest scores from us and by the end of the meal I was breaking all known Michelin decorum with my fist pumps and agonised howls. But everyone was on the same page, and we even got a free unasked for dessert out of it. Good times.

Haha , I love that football transcends, race, class and pretty much every other imaginable boundary that we have placed upon ourselves. It’s good for moral.

I had my belated BD meal at The Ledbury. Very fine food but as it is run by an Aussie it is pretty relaxed. All round it was probably my fave day of the year. I'll put a thread up soon.
