2254 with PO clasp for basically 1/3 of what a Sub costs.

For the money it is a better buy - sorry it is what it is.

Still has preferable features for me over a similar era Sub (AR, matte dial, easy to source OEM parts from the manufacturer, ETA service / parts availability).

That said I also like the Sub and have a similar era one (16610) which is my daily.

I can really treat the Omega like a sports watch and not care one bit - where as I try my best to do the same with the Sub....it being on wrist is always in my head. Hell I fully brushed my 2254 and strongly considering having it done on the Sub.

This is one of those "get both" moments in my opinion. That said I know there will always be the "Rolex or bust crowd" but they are good watches.

The blue Seamaster on rubber makes me want to go swimming with it. The Sub makes me want to stay far away from water. Both are great but the Seamaster is definitely priced very competitively.

I totally agree, the 2254 is highly undervalued and maybe a better bang for the buck. I love the way you brushed yours, it looks amazing.

Both great watches and I'd be proud to own either.

Sub stays true to its design and after 70 years of iterations, the aesthetic has barely changed.

Can't really say the same about the Seamaster but I enjoy its modern look and engineering design.

That said, I'd go with the Sub

Love them both. Own the new seamaster too. The only thing I really dislike about it is the clasp. Too chunky for me.

They have lost their identity
Used to have the blue 300m ..sold it to get the hulk..never looked back

Everyone has their favorite. Really is no wrong choice if your happy with it. Have taken my SubC off my wrist maybe 5 times in two years to clean in, and wind it. My old 16753 RootBeerGMT I babied. Not my new SubC. My Daytona sleeps in a gun safe with other toys. My SubC is absolutely my favorite of all time. Will never be sold or polished. It's a sexy workhorse and I bought it for me. Only had a few people even notice it due to all the Invitica $100 watches out there and could care less. My advice.... Buy what works for you. Don't care about other people's thoughts or opinions... and for god sakes... Quit bashing other people's stuff they work hard for. We are all here to share and enjoy each other's love for their watches.
