Gremlin and Pacer...wow, blast from the past. How about an 83 Chevette? Good times in one of those.

Vein is a part of the anatomy; vain refers to over inflated self worth, fwiw.

My unpopular opinion is that pretty much every unpopular opinion about Rolex has already been posted in this thread.

Having said that, I'm sure this this post will get buried in no time as the same unpopular opinions are rehashed ad nauseam.

I like the sillyness of "mine says hi!"

Its part of the forum game.

Part of the sillyness of "grown man on watch forums"

I love it :)

I've tried, but cannot get my watch to speak - or sing. Perhaps it needs to go to the RSC?

Hah, yes. No sillier than grown ups generally posting pictures of their watches on the internet.

Not sure how long this thread will live, but I wanted to add one more:

There is nothing more tacky and gauche than posting a picture of your Rolex-adorned wrist with a steering wheel of a fancy car (BMW, Porsche, M-B, etc) in the background. Even worse - and bizarre - are the pictures posted by men with their watch laying across a crazy expensive leather bag. Really, guys? Rolex owners aren't already seen as d-bags by enough people on the planet that you have to go and make it even worse?

Make this one a sticky. I couldn't have put it better. Nauseating.

My dislike of the comic character The Hulk has a negative influence on my wanting the watch. Silly/stupid but true.

It makes sense if you dont like something thats associated.

Just focus on the tangible things.

I got a hulk.. and i would still get it even if people called it "The green tin foil hat"

I prefer to look at it like a sort of "roast" of Rolex as opposed to "hate". We all love Rolex, but it's ok to jab at them from time to time.

Exactly

Just a light-hearted discussion of Rolex (and perhaps more so, us watch geeks and our weird practices).

To draw a parallel, I love my wife to absolute bits, but it doesn't stop me from admitting she has a super-human ability to irritate the hell out of me on a regular basis.

Also, I refer back to my earlier comment in this thread...

If you take it off and don't touch it for a few days, that noise will stop
