Does this warrant a new thread? "So a Man Goes To Pick Up His 3 New Watches"?

The real questions is which one do you wear first? The second question is how long before going to the next? I know I could not add three newbies to the rotation as I give the new one a lotof wrist time. After buying a new watch, the current crew tends to spend a lot more time on their respective winders. You are a braver man than me.

Wear them all in good health!

Oh I did. She repsonded that in exchange, she wanted our bedroom porch to be screened in the (see above) which I said sure. I told her I wanted to go and pick them up this evening, and she said that she's making dinner, and wanted me home for that! So, I'll probably go tomorrow. I just have to convicnce her that I got a good deal, so I don't hear sh___t from her about it later! LOL

Thanks Jen. BTW, when she saw this thread llast week, and saw your picture next to your post, she asked who that beautiful girl was?

If you want to convince her that you got a good deal, just show her for sale threads here at Rolex Forums--for the used counterparts of the watches you got new, from an AD, without any concern of counterfeits.

Your Daytona should typically fetch $9500. Your Deep Sea could fetch around $7500. Your Milguass (green, correct?) should be fetching $6100. These are all used prices, and it comes out to just over $23,000. You got it for $20,000 + tax, which should come well under $23,000.

I think this is a pretty honest way to convince her that you got a good deal and shouldn't lose much money--if at all. Now, if you want to convince her you got a great deal, show her the prices on eBay ;) But I know you mentioned there is no deception between you and your wife, so that might be pushing it.

I DID! And I plan on retrieving those bad boys today! I got a little over 22% off the three. Can I "easily" afford them? Not to sure what that means. Not easily, as in $20K is chump change for me. But spending that amount of money will not change my standard of living. Thanks for your interest!

Finally Brian!

You better post pics and many of them because I am following this darn thread like my favorite show, 24.

The money you saved....should go towards something for your wife....make sure it doesn't exceed your discount or else you wouldn't be saving anything.

Thanks Henry. I will post pics as soon as I am the owner (hopefully later today). The "saving moneny thing" was more about being able to get out of them without a tremendous loss, if I wanted to sell them, not about being as tight as possible. I just have to get through the weekend before I insure them, since Jeweler's Mutual is closed until Monday. The insurance bill on my collection is getting steep! But I take it as a necessity. I already utilized the insurance when my wife dropped her lady's DJ on the floor, and resulted in about $1,000 worth of damage. The insurance picked up the entire tab, less the $100 deductible.

Thanks again, and I will keep everyone informed!

Well pal,

You are a lucky man and enjoy your new pieces, regardless what you do with them in the future. At least you can say you have owned these fine pieces.

Yesterday, when I told my AD that my brokerage was closed for Good Friday, so I couldn't to get an offiical check for the payment of the watches until Monday, he said, no problem. He'll take my personal check, and even hold it! So I'll bring my personal check (which is linked to my brokerage account and is good at present anyhow). Do you think he's hard up, foolish, or a good judge of character?

Also, another question: Does anyone know if the Daytona come with a bezel protector?

So have you picked up the watches or not? Yes, the Daytona will come with a clear bezel protector.

I should be getting them today. It's 9:30 AM GMT-5. The AD is about 45 minutes form my house, and he is open until 6PM. I have a meeting this afternoon and my daughter has a piano lesson. So, after than I plan to head to him and wrap it up; that is if the creek don''t rise.

You've missed the fact that this thread is kind of interesting in a freakish sort of way, just as the 3 word thread is many pages of nothing much at all, a sort of Seinfeld thread.

No need to be rude, however.

There will be closure at some point .... maybe.
