Imho get what YOU love and that resonates with you. Time is the most precious commodity you have.
------ TRF reeeeally needs a different board for investors, so enthusiasts can freely discuss passion, craftsmanship, the beauty of movement, build quality... and hopefully, we'll eventually get to know more about the people who created these timepieces. With some big brands, you have little idea of the actual people behind the overall project. With modern independents, we can learn more about the passionate people, and in not just who, but also in how they create these masterpieces in horology. Czapek is doing an excellent job and would love to see more brands follow suit. jmho

Im definitely not an investor as I said I’ve never sold a watch. I feel I’m being objective about a new watch and brand. I’ve described that I appreciate the collaborations and what went into the watch. I appreciate the design etc but as a watch forum I am describing what I feel after getting a watch and comparing to other watches in the same price category. I know the parts for my Ferrari cost more than a VW because the R&D and manufacturing costs are spread over fewer pieces. I love the look of my Czapek, the people behind it.. I’ve mentioned again and again that the service was phenomenal. I am disappointed in the chronometer certification being extra now when that was a major advertising point for them. Seems some people knew this was the case so maybe it’s my fault for not seeing it.

Ps none of my posts were about making money re-selling they were about demand. There are a few that are in space with asking prices so I quoted the few that are almost msrp not selling

Wonderfully said szabo, thanks for your posts.
Ah yes, I fondly recall those lovely yellow parts boxes with black Prancing Horse.

For me it's also a huge letdown. Had I known that ... I would not order again with the knowledge of the missing certification..

I've got a white dial Passage de Drake with red tipped second hand. In addition to the adjustable clasp, I'd like to get the red leather strap in 2022. |

Agreed, we shall see when the (Monochrome) timepiece arrives, and over time in durability. Personally have faith as their customer service is said to be great! One thing i truly enjoy is Czapek's modern transparency, and in showcasing those who have dedicated their time and talent to assist in making these truly fine and rare truly terrific timepieces.
Imho 2022 is the year when true independents, and those who do the actual effort, get the recognition they have long deserved earned.

Honestly after spending some more time with the watch it definitely is a beautiful movement and the fact it’s made in house by a new company is an achievement in its own right. Service was second to none from both Czapek and Fratello not a complaint there whatsoever. They collaborated with some of the best in the game for their components. It’s mental gymnastics really. It’s twice the price of a DJ from Rolex but also much rarer and has a more “special” movement in it. I’m sure if it was a Patek or AP I’d have more latitude which isn’t fair. I think objectively it’s worth it’s price, you’re not paying the profit of the middleman. Time will tell about reliability and durability

Yesterday I received my new bracelet and micro adjustment clasp from Czapek. I had my bracelet brushed and it did not come out as expected so Czapek sent me a new brushed one.
As a side note, we hear about service from every company but you don’t know what it means until you need it. Czapek has gone above and beyond for me because they cared about my experience. I’d say they have exceeded every expectation in spades. Now to the clasp. This is the back of the original On the new The top of the new. See the little pushers on each side. Each side opens individually around 3 mm per side So when both sides are opened it looks like this |

Wow that is super awesome
Now we need invisible fixation of links a la Lange or IWC , and we have a winner there. Chapeau, Czapek (in polish = czapek = hat ;) ) |

I think I would buy it again. The more you wear it the more you like it in my experience. I catch myself looking at the dial and the case. My least favourite part is the bracelet but it still looks decent and doesn’t pinch skin or pull hair

Out of any watch I’ve ever purchased, it’s harder for any picture to show what the piece looks like in the metal. Given the movement showing through the dial, light truly hits at many different angles given the various depths of the components. The Rattrapante function is amazing on this watch. Works flawlessly. I went with the red second hand which really adds to the character of the watch. It’s fun to see the components as you cycle through starting, stopping, catching up, etc. What Czapek said about the height is indeed true; the over 15mm total height may initially scare people, but you have to see it in person. It really does mostly feel like a traditional Antarctique, and they designed the domed crystal well. Of course there will be more exploration in the coming days, but the limited experience is still enough to name it my favorite of the four. |

Still loving my Czapek, it's definitely taking away wrist time from the rest of the collection. I was out getting an eye exam and some new glasses this morning, and the 20-something saleswoman complimented me on the watch. She asked where I got it and I just said "some little Swiss company you've probably never heard of". Nobody ever comments on my watches. I suppose it's because the dial really is eye-catching in the metal.
