Submariner, especially the bluesy.

I respect it, but I just can't jive with the style. I actually prefer the style of the Tudor Black Bay more.

EDIT: Add the Yachtmaster II to this list. I enjoy the original, but the YMII is just too much.

Probably never:
jubilee bracelet
under 40mm
Milguass, Explorer, Air King, Datejust, or Cellini

My favorites:
YG DD40
YG/TT Sub blue dial
Daytona with panda dial

Cool thread here. I agree with previous comments that this thread really shows how Rolex can appeal to many with different tastes and there is no problem bashing a watch model without personally insulting the wearer.

Although I owned one in the past (remember the 80's), I would not buy a two toned.

Also, I have never liked diamonds on Men's watches, just a personal preference (I know many like them).

And the YM II, I just don't like the name on the bezel, just a step too far IMO.

As for likes, I love chronographs, especially Daytonas.

I love meteorite and think Rolex does those very well.

And I love precious metals, especially WG and platinum. I like the weight and subtlety, and the fact that most people will think they are plain SS. It is like knowing a secret.

What Rolex model you would never ever buy?

What wouldn't I buy? Anything two-tone. All SS - great. All YG - fine. All WG - fine. I just don't like mixing and matching with my metals.

1) Yacht Master II - I find it to be gaudy and tasteless. "Clown-Master" would be a more appropriate name.

2) Cellini - Not into thin, dressy pieces.

The above are my opinions only. To each his own.

I love my Bluesy, and by any other name it's still gorgeous.

Probably the only Rolex I for sure wouldn't buy is anything in the Cellini line. Milgauss and Air King would be pretty far down the list, too.

I definitely agree anything with diamonds if you're a man.
Limited edition with company logos.
Anything smaller than 39 mm.

A steel sports Rolex with a crazy complication that a lot of Internet forum dwelling Rolex fanboys (fan-geriatrics) get all hatey about? Makes it almost a must-have!

Got other things (like the Smurf). But the total f**k-*ff-ness of the steel YM II, the Rolex anti-social and yet extroverted, who gives a crap attitude of it really warrants appreciation by a certain type of character. Besides, complications. Who on earth needs a moonphase? For werewolves and their minders perhaps? Or an annual calendar, come on. Really, can't remember what month it is? Most chronographs never get used and that jerk-off complication is on every other haute horology piece.

A ten minute countdown timer, completely over engineered like it's the most important thing ever, in a 44mm case. It's like a giant middle finger to all the insecure, old-timey watch snobbery out there.

Only Sub, DD and DJ for me. I like GMT and Daytona, but i would never need the complication of the first and i dislike the tachy on the latter. Also no diamonds decoration, floral or jubilee dials.
