x2 I also agree that Rolex they make watches for big cooperations and powerful politicians. They made 1 back in the 60's for Chairman Mao.

It seems that money talks but with Rolex it is also true that is better to have friends than money..

Someone told me a story once about the Navy Seal reunion, all the retired SEALS that came received a custom Rolex where, in place of the crown at the 12 o'clock, sat the Navy Seal logo. Not sure if it was true or not.

I'd like to have the crown logo on the dial removed on all my Rolex purchases if it was available. After living in countries with monarchy... sweden britain norway I've realised royals are parasites and I don't want any crown-logo reminding me of that.

2000 SEALS on the planet today... 500,000 to train each one... what is that... 10,000,000,000 dollars spent training our current Navy Seals... and I was told that was about 3% of our Navy's budget.

BTW, I have tried many times to offer money to buy his watch, he said it's not coming off till he's not with us anymore. I hope I get it in his will, but it will probably go to his son. Oh well. He also can tell a damn good tale as to what they did. I think the Marines were right, they were mental! |

I detest PCL so it follows that I really don't like gold / diamonds on a watch for a male (fine for a woman but I have never, ever understood a man wanting diamonds, just personal opinion though and I mean no offence whatsoever) as I personally prefer a more subtle look. I remember a fews years ago, visiting is a certain watch brands boutique (not ROLEX) and the AD showed me a watch that was meant to be a "divers" watch, however it was covered in diamonds. I asked if I could see the "mens" version of the watch without the diamonds and he said it was intended for a man, I just thought "oookkkk, strange, that is for a MAN". Jumping on a BMW R 1200 GS or doing some mountaineering with a gold diamond encrusted (insert brand name) just really doesn't work for me as an image. But that is just my personal taste and there is no right or wrong, good or bad: people should just do what makes them happy. |

onea my neighbours & most trusted friends is an ex-USA marine & he's crazy! he challenged me to a drunken arm wrestle once (& he simply wouldn't take "no" for an answer) & due to his "can't lose?"/"do or die?"/"mind over matter?" mentality/training? I ended up almost ripping his bicep clean off the bone before he conceded!! He couldn't lift so much as a bottle o'beer for three months!!! I slept with one eye open those twelve weeks in case he crept in through my window & vulcan-death-grip-ninja-death-starred me in the middle of the night or something?! but whatever it is with all those guys & every serviceman & woman out there..... they do what they do to keep us & ours safe ........ & i & mine salute, respect & admire them for it.
