Of course it does! Just like an exotic car, and nice house in trendy neighborhood. If it was stictly a situation of telling time, your cell phone does that. I'm not even going to say it isn't a cash thing tangled with an addictive hobby. Everyone knows when your sporting the top dog in any hobby.

It's not a response directed at your comment. It's a general comment. Cheers, S

Poor Bidak has only 5 posts to his name. While his thinking reflects some insecurity, this is not a crime necessitating federal imprisonment, and it was in fact, honest. Some of us (self included) have had some fun at his expense and I personally hope he comes back. As I read through the responses, "ouch!" If I were Bisdak, I might never return. We've thrown cyber eggs at this newbie, so I'm going to PM him and apologize.

Maybe he's away from his computer. Nothing sounded harsh to me. Taffi, your signature says plenty to your light spirit.

The way I look at it, if you're wearing a Rolex, you're wearing a Rolex. If someone looks down on me for wearing ONLY a Stainless Steel model then you know they only bought their watch for the assumed status boost they need because they feel insignificant in the real world. While I'd agree that it looks better to wear a Rolex than a Timex, most WIS' recognize the watch as a great piece of machinery not just the value of the materials.

...well, maybe except an insinuation that his equipment is 'lacking of stature', so to speak

If the fellow with the more expensive Rolex is also a WIS, then don't you think he or she would dig your Rolex just as much?
But if they ain't a WIS, then why do you care what they think anyway? |

OP had no idea there were so many psychoanalysts at his disposal right here in TRF. Now if we each charge him a consulting fee of $5.00/response, and send it to Gaby...

Get over it, no matter how much money you have someone else is going to have more than you or me. Life is way to short to worry about such trivial things. If you can have a nice watch of any kind, be thankful...... Have a great day......
