I know the Blue bezel and dial identifies it to those who know, but does anyone else feel it looks too much like SS for the price tag?

It shouldn't matter I suppose, but it is big money.

Very fair point mate. I guess I use the 'flip factor' as a sanity check for purchases. I'm in double figures watch wise and haven't flipped one yet which actually makes my depreciation aversion less relevant!!

And RJC, this exactly my main issue. As I said earlier if there was a SS/Blue combo I wouldn't hesitiate to buy that.

Maybe I just personally don't value the WG element psychologically enough to take a US$5000 depreciation hit as soon as I put it on my wrist. Thats ultimately what it comes down to.

Anyway, I'll let you guys know what decision I make for sure!!

Thought I'd share a quick picture of mine! Still only a few days old but loving it so much!

Like I mentioned before, bought with a healthy-ish 17% discount from a UK high street store

Cheers!

X2.. Yes by time people will get more used to the "SMURF BLUE" and it will come the time they will prefer it over the "COBALT BLUE"...

1) Would a 2010 model have any mechanical difference to the earlier released 2009 model?

2) Given the latest release of the SS/ceramic models (with Parachrom Blue hairspring) do you think that.....

a)......there will be an adverse effect on the value of the WG version? Have Rolex shot themselves in the foot a bit on this one? (The SS and WG are very different markets of course but even so.) .

b) .....there may be an updated WG version to re-distinguish it from the more mainstream SS models.

I am getting the 'correct' discount from my AD but I'm not sure whether it is better to look for a used 'as new' model and save myself the inevitable thump of depreciation or even just stick to the SS model (although the real kicker for me is the blue on blue which of course is not available).

What do you guys reckon??

and thanks...!!
What about the weight factor? Personally I end up rarely wearing the heavier watches in my humble collection.

At the moment I find the weight of it superb - reassuringly heavy

Although it's not going to be worn everyday as I've got a SS sub already! It feels really special on the wrist
