this guy hit the VW at about 155 mph, now on this particular wreck the VW pulled out in front of the bike, but before we blame the car think about it. you come to an intersection and look both ways and you see a headlight in the distance and it should arrive to you in say 30 seconds, well OK plenty of time to go across.....wrong the rider only had 2 seconds in order to react at that speed.
A similar accident happened here locally and at first the car was at fault until it was determined that the biker was doing 4 times the legal speed limit.... I am a biker the worst incident I ever had was when a car ran into me at a stoplight and totaled my bike and almost me too. the point is bikers need to be very very careful but also have common sense. motorbike-inside-vw_sweden_2005_03_40%25.jpg motorbike-inside-vw_sweden_2005_04_40%25.jpg motorbike-inside-vw_sweden_2005_upplandsbrobil463.jpg all 3 people inside the car died, one of them was the biker...

I want this bike so badly but....I'm not sure it will be very practical on the road. 2008R6AKRO.jpg

Definately not practical but a great kick in the butt if you're looking to scare the crap out of yourself. |

Even though my Ducati ST2 is designed as a sport/touring bike, I found the riding position to be uncomfortable after about 30 minutes. I installed some 1/2 inch bar risers which also angle the bars back 7.5 degrees. They help keep some of the weight off the hands, though unless I'm traveling fast enough to get a wind blast pushing my weight off the bars, my hands still become numb after a while.

I got hit once by a girl that was talking on the phone.
She made me go into the guard rail... my arm got caught in it and it got ripped off above the elbow, only holding by the skin. My scapula was broken in two and my shoulder was behind me... my back was broken in two places, and my ribs were sticking out. I knew I was going to go down. All I could do was close my eyes and say.. God... Don't let me go. Not yet. Not today. She stopped, got out, looked at me, freaked out and peeled off. That's all I remember. I went into a coma, and I woke up nearly a week later in the ICU, with more probes and IVs hooked up to me that I care to remember. To this day, my back hurts 24/7 and I have only about 50% mobility in my right arm. I also have no nerves/feel in it and I often find myself bleeding because I hurt myself without realizing it. Because I can't feel it. I got right back on the bike, and I am not mad at her. Because somebody up there loves me, I survived. I got a second lease on life. And I forgave her long time ago. Why? Because she has to live the rest of her life never knowing if I lived or not. May God be with her.
