I saw many, rolex, omega, cartier, Patek, Chronoswiss for sale on costcofor like more than 50% off the retail price.
I thinks this can't be classified as a AD. And what about the warranty? if grey market... may be is thru Costco too. |

I wonder if you can just run that through one of the "self checkout" lanes.

I can actually see the market for that -
My sister married a billionaire Philipino when she was just 18 and has spent her entire life living like a Saudi Princess. We were once (during her childbearing years) in the K Mart in Hyannis Mass and she called the mamager over and bought the entire children's section - 20 aisles of merchandise - all the clothes, diapers, formula, shoes, bibs, toys etc etc etc... Had a couple of her husbands containers brought to the store and shipped the entire lot back to Manila where she re sold all the US goods to her circle of rich friends. Claimed that she couldn't find any of those items in Manila in the 1960's. It would have been an afterthought for her to 'throw in that nice watch too". Never grew up, never had to. 60 years old now and still acting like a teenager. (*In those days that K Mart was the only discount store on Cape Cod and for weeks after her selfish little stunt hundreds of poor young moms had nowhere they could go to buy baby things. It was just awful)

Just cannot understand why it matters where you buy any watch as long as its genuine. And not many watches bought today any brand need any sort of warranty work in the warranty period. Some may need a bit of regulation if you are anal about a few seconds. And if you save yourself some cash whats the problem, a Rolex is a Rolex, a Patek is a Patek, no matter where its bought. And Rolex or Patek will still take your money to service it, they will not care where it was bought.

And this knock off would be exactly the same in every way right down to the engraved serial #?
I wouldnt think they were idiots and say in a simpleton voice, "O.K. sorry you didnt like the $(insert large some of money) watch sir" and put it back in the case w/o verification. Do you? |

I can't for the life of me see why people got so distressed about Rolex/Costco in the first place.
Says something about the person, I reckon.

Agreed. I think they want to feel special... or "exclusive".

Some people don't want the AD experience and feel that they got a better experience going to Costco even if (after the haggling at the AD) you can get the watch for the same price at either place.

Accept a return of a $5000+ watch and not verify? OK? Never been to Ohio, they must really be a bunch of naive, gullible, hicks there. God bless their sweet little hearts.
