I noticed that Rafael (figbo) has not posted here. That's because there's not enough room for all of the digits in his age!

Unlike my very young and fresh 62 years...

Good lord, everyone is younger so far in this thread. I guess that makes me an "OLD FART". Wonder if they can change my user name...

Thanks, Allan. I'm actually coming up on a full year of retirement in July, so I actually retired when I was 61. Very good!

As for you, I always found my 40's and 50's to be my most productive years. Keep your eye on the prize - retirement is GREAT if you plan for it!!!

So... how old ARE you, Mike? You don't get "OLD FART" status without telling us.

I believe that so far, I hold the "OLD FART" record in this thread (based on stated age). Of course, Rafael hasn't posted yet. He's pretty damn old!!!

I'm 47 and I'm very surprised at the amount of younger folks answering this thread. Now, I was a young Rolex fan - 22 when I bought my GMT. But I kind of thought the younger generation was shying away from watches all toghether....seems like today everyone uses thier cell phone for the time. Frankly, it seems like you just dont see many in thier 20's even wearing watches. I've always planned on passing my watches down to my kids, but I dont know if they'd wear them..?? Probably sit in a drawer.
maybe not... my son has surprised me before....

Although I've always been into watches and bought my first mechanical when I had the chance, my cousin who is my age is of the "I use my phone/ computer/ casio to tell the time" generation.

In due time, he began appreciating watches and is now into mechanical watches too (Breitlings!).

I haven't given up hope on the younger generation. When they get wiser, they'll want something more sophisticated than their phones to tell time.
