The Blackberry Storm 2 does not have those problems. Hint, hint.

Verizon and Google Android operating system is the way to go. Apple offers very little in tech innovation. They do, offer very pretty technology packages and great marketing.
I wonder why people still buy Apples....for all the healthy nutrients?

Wow, this is ridiculous! I'm staying put with T-Mobile and my BB until the issues are resolved. Just don't feel comfortable switching yet.

I'm still grandfathered in on the original BB 1,000 anytime minutes + unlimited text / data plan for an excellent rate. Running a 9700 Bold II and loving every (anytime) minute of it.

this should reduce the interference caused by human hand/fingers.. did you know that if you hold your car remote control under your chin - this would increase the distance of the transmitting signal between you and your car? (your head acts like a massive antenna) |

Yep, just point it at your head and the range is increased, Clarkson did it on top gear a couple of seasons ago.

The theme is "Sector 8". Each of the sections at the top are clickable and 3 of them are user defined. An excellent freebie. http://www.mobilethemesworld.com/fre...n-today-8-icon The wallpaper is one of my favorites from the "Spirit Warriors" collection by Arlene LaDell Hayes; picked up at an art gallery in San Antonio. I affectionately call it "Spirit Critters".

1 yr later and I still love my Palm Pre on Sprint.
Marvelous device, and Sprint throws in all the extras like TV and turn-by-turn GPS for free! Cheapest plans around! |

Shrug. Unlimited is $99 with data, with TV, and with GPS. TV is extra everywhere else, and GPS is at least another $10 per month on other carriers. I travel a ton, and now I don't need to carry a dedicated GPS, mount, and charger.
Also, Sprint is loose on Friends and Family policies. Someone hooked me up with that discount so monthly is $10 cheaper per month. Palm houses all your data and backup in the cloud for free. If you lose or break your phone, all you do is log into the new phone with your Palm account and the cloud restores your stuff on the new device. That's a "coming soon" with Android, and Apple's MobileMe is $99 a year. |

I'll bet some of the iPhone folks who are locked into AT&T are a little annoyed about their (AT&T) move away from unlimited data plans.

I haven't had this issue with mine, and neither does my friend who picked up a phone with me at launch. It's not all of them...

good linky me think.
I hold my phone with my fingers just like the writer of that article. It makes you wonder if Apple already knew the problem, hence the expensive bumper case...... mmm.... Haven got my iPhone 4 yet, but have already sourced a silican case from the bay... So will see how that goes. |

I've not found it a problem, I have held my finger directly over the black strip on the left bottom corner of the phone and don't see any difference to the reception bars.

ive used the iphone 4 for a day now and a few things
1. im a huge apple fan. but not blind, if they build something i think is junk ill say it. 2. i havent been able to, at all, get the problem with holding it wrong, to replicate for me UNLESS i am in an area with horrible reception. and with any other phones ive tried, i never got reception there to begin with. 3. the new phone is incredibly fast and the screen is a thing of beauty. 4. im more than happy with my purchase. 5. i've been in my office in NYC all day, which i normally get horrible service in (and still do on my tmobile blackberry) and i am getting great service all day. something i cant say about my 3g that i used to have. 6. the new software is greatly improved. |

If anything I get better reception than I did with my 3GS, in my village I got no reception whatsoever before, still not great, but useable.

So basically y'all are confirming that there is a build quality issue on some (not all) units... no consistency in the failure.
Looks like this is going to be a tough nut to crack for Apple.

i dont know if thats the truth. i know 10 people with the iphone 4. the thing we have come up with is that in areas of poor network signal, where our 3g and 3gs iphones had NO signal, we can get usable iphone 4 signals if we dont hold it that way. in any other area, the attenuation is sooo slight that it doesnt make any difference. we have not yet found anyone that had lost signal on an iphone 4 where they used to have it on 3g or 3gs phones
