Here's the PN that my watchmaker and friend owns next to my ROO. Enjoy the close ups.

The PN looks a bit different. The sub dials are silver and the tritium/lume are perfect pinpoint circles vs. semi ovals touching marker ends. Interesting?? Is that a 6239? Nice AP too!!

There are only two PN references and this is one of them. My friend's is a 6241. I know for sure his is an authentic PN as he used to be a watchmaker at the RSC in Dallas for 14 years. He knows more about Rolex than I could ever dream of knowing. Last time someone offered him money for his watch he turned the offer down. They offered $64K.

Thanks for the compliments on my ROO.

Jedly my friend--I was actually trying to be subtle! LOL--Of course we know there are many PN references--Submarino's friend's is simply one of the worst fakes I have ever seen. Sorry but it is what it is. Look at the markers again--there are NO PN round pin markers! There are no silver sub dials on a PN--they are WHITE--on a black dial of course!!! Sorry mate--FAKE--100%! Now that is not as subtle as I was this morning when I nearly spilled my coffee!

It's funny that you call it a FAKE--100% with that condescending tone!!!

Back on October 18th last year, I posted a thread about this exact same watch with the same pics. Name of the thread: 'A Very Close Encounter with a Beautiful Paul Newman'. Here's the link to the thread.

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...ht=paul+newman

At that time, you had no objections and all you mentioned was:

It's very interesting that a few months ago you had nothing to say and didn't even own one. Now because you own one or you say you do, you think you know everything about this rare find.

Please don't try to be subtle! We are all grown ups here and the truth might be ugly but it's better when told in a friendly and respectful way, especially among friendly people at TRF.

I have never claimed to be a PN expert and I just go with what people tell me when I have enough reason to believe in them. I really had no reason to not believe in my friend who probably knows more about watches than you and me combined.

You can call it fake or whatever you like. I know who he is, I've seen him dealt with pieces at the IWJG shows that are so rare that neither you or myself would probably ever see or own. To me all this is more than enough for me to know that his is legit.

Actually, if you do your research a little bit more you'll see that some PN have different markers. I encourage you to read more about the PN at the most trusted source for it.

Ok .. Without being subtle, it a bad bad, 199 fake , not even close to real, if it makes you feel more comfortable I'd suggest you contact stefano, he's a nice guy and will I'm sure gladly confirm this.

If your pal is as you say, then I'm sure he must be pulling your leg.

Nothing against you--no condescending tone either--it is what it is. I glimpse at so many posts on TRF and post so many without paying too much attention a good bit of time. While drinking my coffee this morning the subdials caught my eye and then I focused on the markers---and knew it was fake. No big deal--not a reflection on you. I also made sure it was not a comment on you and to point that out commented on your AP. I don't need to read more about the PN I have a copy of Stefano's book right here on my desk. As for me saying I own one--yes I do--right out of Mark Lerman's collection--and a rare and perfect find at that. No harn intended--and it again was not directed at you-as you are not the owner of it--it was directed at the watch!!!
