I'm with JJ on this one. Mine is never off by 2 or 3 seconds because I have an 'atomic' alarm clock that receives a radio signal from the Atomic Clock in Boulder Colorado. I just check it when I take it off at night against that clock and either lay it flat or on edge to regulate it, according to the actual time on my alarm clock.

Hmmmm...I wonder how long it takes for my alarm clock to receive the signal from Colorado...

Yes, RSC states they will regulate your Rolex to a range of from 0 to 2 sec. fast.

When I have had this done, they generally come out at +1 sec/day.
In my experience, Rolexes are easier to set this close because they vary hardly at all with position, especially the ones with the new Parachrom Blu hairspring.

My GV runs -2 so I set it a minute ahead, and after a month it's spot on. I can let it go another month, and it will still be within a minute of the 'correct' time, but who cares? OTOH, I'm still tracking the seconds-hand accuracy of my Sub with pencil and paper. I paid for an overhaul less than 6 months ago, and it seems to be running -18, or losing a minute in 3 days. I don't know if it makes sense, but the accuracy doesn't bug me as much as getting a decent 'bang for the buck.' FWIW, my Invicta 8926 Pro Diver w/ Citizen Miyota 21j movement runs +2 (talk about bang for the buck!) My Hamilton Scuba w/ Swiss quartz might be off a few seconds after a year (hard to predict because it hasn't deviated from the USNO Master Clock at all!)

Gave up all this time setting and watch timing stuff many many years ago, know ones life is run to the absolute second today. But if it is then I feel very sorry for you I check mine once a month against my trusty Citizen Aqualand 11.Being quartz its within a few seconds a month that will do for me.And by this method I have never missed a flight or been late for any appointment in the past 30 odd years.Afraid today many Rolex watch wearers get too anal about time, whats in a few seconds either way out of the 86,400 in a day.But accuracy mainly comes from regulation and several experiments over the years with what some call humble movements. One watch in particular has amazed me with consistency and accuracy. It was a $60 Alpha manual chronograph it used a Chinese Seagull SG19 movement, which is a copy of the out of production Swiss Venus 175.Out of the box when tested on my watchmaker friends timing machine it was just over COSC spec not bad for a $60 watch. But after regulation a consistent +2 seconds a day. That watch is now over 5 years old but has been re-regulated a few times but still a constant +2 seconds a day.Its surprising if you have the time and patience to correctly regulate most modern day movements even so called humble ones can perform to a very accurate standard.

I get your point Padi and I agree that it is mere seconds out of 86,400 secs a day.

It only bugs me when those seconds adds to over a minute as time goes by......and I just know that it is off.

Accuracy used to bother me...but since year-to-date my GMT IIc is (in sum total) only +1 second, I am now content :-p

As long as a watch is within about a 2 minute range of the actual time (I check my mobile phone or digital TV modem) then I am ok........

I rotate my three throughout the week. Never get too far ahead or behind. Although I stopped caring about precision years ago. As an AD once told me when I complained about it being off a few seconds.."absolute accuracy isn't that important unless you are going to the moon". Kinda had to agree with that.

For once have to agree with the AD and lets be honest its only the wearer who will know if his/her watch is within a few seconds. If someone asks you the time you don't tell them to the absolute second.

I adjust them all on the first of each month. Then I do not worry about them at all until the first of the next month.
