It stopped! But i can now officially say i succeeded to wind the rolex! I pull the crown out a bit by screwing it, then i screw it (not towards me) the rolex started to vibrate and make sounds. I screw until i couldnt do it anymore (i think about 3 laps). Then the watch started automaticly, i didnt shake it, it started by itself when i head back to my desk.
Maybe i succeeded.. i do not know... this thread has become more and more interesting.. |

On a full wind it should last around 48 hours give or take, and thats just sitting idle without wearing it......
From what I've read throught this thread,I'm not sure your winding it correctly.... Please bear with me.. Unscrew the crown to the first position. This means release it from the threads until it becomes free(This sometimes requires a little wiggle for it to pop out to its first position)...Now,Turn the crown away from yourself(12 o'clock direction) for 40 to 50 finger turns on the crown...Don't stop winding because it starts ticking after 10 to 15 turns...Keep winding until you count out 40!! Screw the crown back in and let it sit undisturbed with the face in the upright position....

Ok guys.
I was going to the AD, so I did. The AD couldnt believe their eyes, it never happen and it was as i described earlier, vibrating once i tryed to wind the watch. So he claims it need to be sent to Rolex, which will take approx~ 2 months. I am so dissapointed in this watch that i think i will sell it, HOW is it possible for me to buy a new watch, which in a few months result in a watch that stops for every 4 hour. Dont really know what to say.. i am really dissapointed right now and probably doing something bad, 78 thousand for nothing... it feels... like a huge hole in my stomach. take care guys. |

Some comforting words in our language...that all folks!

I think the problem could be from the machine itself. Most of rolex watches operated on an automatic self-wending machine, if it's an old one, so in this case manual-wending could be possible. i suggest to take it to the rolex workshop to fid out the problem

Morning!
They had no idea of what problem that may have caused this. He said that a guy came in with a similar problem, yet his watch was vibrating all the time when holding it in his hand, mine is only vibrating while trying to wind it, thats why i asked if i should wind it towards me, since it couldnt be done in anyother way, well it worked for 3 laps and then it started vibrating.. it was quite a amazing feeling, this just indicates that the caliber is really strong lol. And NOONE believed me, you even thought a bird would fly out, but it was actually true, it vibrated. I havent figured out how to solve this problem, it will be sent to rolex and what i will do after that.. we will see. Anyone who can tell me abit about the service? Will this result in value-drop? I mean its almost new. And what will they do? |

They'll fix whatever is wrong with it first. Then they'll polish any scratches out of it to get it to look like new. Normally they replace the crown, but since it's only a few months old, they may choose not to do that (unless of course it is needed to fix whatever is wrong with it).
They will contact you and ask you about any elective work, such as replacing the crystal, the bracelet, etc. Since the watch is only a few months old, I would suggest passing on anything elective - my guess is the crystal and bracelet are in like new condition, especially after a good polish. As long as you only have them do the necessary fixes, it should be at no cost to you since it's still in the one year warranty. It will NOT effect the value of the watch. If anything, it may make it more valuable on the re-sale market since it's less than a year old and been into RSC for a complete overhaul. That's just my speculation, though, so don't count on any increase in value. I recommend not making any decision about selling it until you get it back from service. Once it's fixed, you will probably fall in love with it all over again as you did when you bought it. |

Hi all.
Thanks for your answer vincentvega, you certainly have a point, and it is good. I have spoken to Nymans once again, they have changed some parts in the watch, and havent sent it to rolex yet since they are pretty sure it can be fixed at nymans. They are 100 % sure in tuesday but i will quote Linus at nymans; so far so good. If everything is ok, they will text me at tuesday. IM HOLDING MY FINGERS CROSSED!!!! |

Hi!
The watch is fixed, i suppose. Got a text from Nymans, picked it up after lunch and is now fully working i hope. They replaced some particular parts and should work fine now. Otherwise ill just return once again lol, but i think they tryed it over the weekend (power reserve). All should visit Nymans Ur, a really great AD and exceptional service. Now i know why i bought rolex :D I will not sell it nor buy a new watch yet, but next out is Hublot big bang! |

I had a similar problem that turned out to be a broken mainspring. I didn't notice any vibrating though.
Hopefully Nymans will tell you what the problem was and if so, please let us know. |

It is not a cheaper japanese plastic quartz watch anyway, so nowhere better than send it back to RSC for service, this is the only way out to get the final solution and maybe, just maybe makes you satisfaction, unless you dare to open the bubble back to make your professional homework. Skip the time wasting here to try to get the hint, one step to go there directly for much guarantee and convenience.
