Hey I am in Tampa! We need to get together before I leave the US for a year.

I am available between March 22 and April 6. How about a Tampa meet? We can gather at one of the nice restaurants at the International Plaza.

Sunday, April 1 seems appropriate somehow. What do you think? That way folks from St Auguistine can chime in.

That could work, depending on time. I have a bbq to go to that day, so either real early or real late would be best.

Honestly the best for me on that day would be breakfast around 9-10. I haven't been to Jackson's for brunch in awhile. However, I do realize that if anyone else wants to come and will be driving a long distance this will not be a realistic possiblilty!

I could probably do a late lunch/early dinner on the 31st. I am going to a kayak demo thing to try a few out that day, so probably the later the better!

Also, coincidently, I may pick up a digital SLR sometime this year, too. I am planning on buying a kayak to reward myself for staying on my diet/exercise program for 12 weeks (which will be 4/7) and losing 10-15 lbs (so far). Anyway, part of the reason for the kayak is to help me get in even better shape, and once I buy it, I will set a body fat % goal. When I reach that goal, camera time baby!

Congrats on the GMT.
Is it the picture or is your GMT hand off by a bit?

I think its the picture. If you look at the first one, the minute hand is ~14, and the GMT hand is a hair past 7, which I think is right where it should be. But in the second picture the angle is greater, and the position of the GMT hand appears to have changed in regards to the first pic, but only about 3 minutes has elapsed looking at the minute hand, so therefore the GMT hand couldn't have moved that much (unless something is really, really wrong!)

This reminded me of something I noticed:

I have actually found that owning a Rolex is not good for keeping track of the time!!! Why, you ask? Aren't they certified chronometers? Don't they have a good movement?

Well, of course they have all that. And they do keep good time. The problem I have found is that whenever I want to know what time it is and I look at my watch, I just end up staring at it for awhile, without actually paying attention to the hands! Then, when I finally look away, I still don't know what time it is and have to look again!

I've only taken it off to shower and sleep since I bought it! I will be wearing it as a "daily wearer" (I've heard of dialy drivers for cars, so is this the proper term for a watch?).

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.

You all might find this interesting: At first, I kind of wished the watch had a polished center link or was just a bit shinier. However, I have grown to like the matte finish much more and think it has just the right amount of bling and sparkle. Plus, I really like wearing it around the office and noone has noticed it!
