Very sorry about your loss, that really sucks.

If you had an alarm system on -- you might have an insurance plan or property protection plan of sorts through the alarm company. I know, for example, that my alarm company here in Texas insures against something like $50,000 in property if stuff is stolen with the alarm on/armed.

Sorry for the loss. I think you can contact Rolex and give them the serial number of your Rolex so they add it to their date base. You never know it might turn up some day. Good luck.

Brutal....... Sorry to hear to this.

Good input from the law enforcement types.

Keep an eye on Craigslist, pawnshops, etc.

I worked a burglary last year, and only a few things were stolen from a certain floor. It was the 19 year old son who took the new tv, his bookbag, dads wallet, and more.

I hope it wasn't an inside job, but the flags are popping up.

Surely you have serial numbers to list on the National Crime Information Computer (NCIC)

Sorry to hear about your losses buddy...now would be a good time to post serial numbers to those watches to TRF and Rolex so we can all keep our eyes open. To steal watches like that, probably comes with the idea to sell them. What better place than eBay or TRF? Post Serials!!

If a thief hits your house, and the alarm goes off (so they know they only have a couple minutes to work FAST and get out), they're either splitting up to ransack the entire house for what's sitting out or hitting the master bedroom. Who has the most jewelry, valuables, etc? Random guest bedroom or the home owner's master suite? If they saw thousands in jewelry sitting out in a guest room, it would be reasonable to assume that the master suite would have 10 times more.
You've been hit by a friend or family member. I don't see how it could be any other way. It wouldn't make sense.
Sorry man.

I hate to suggest this but from the few facts you provided, I'm sure the Police suggested "Inside" job. If you have any "sketchy" aquaintances, I'd check them out first.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I agree that this sounds like an inside job.

I have to ask about one thing that piqued my curiosity - - why did you leave your iPhone at home?

I've also survived a break in and theft. I say survived because the most disturbing and lasting part of it was the feeling of personal invasion. The material loss and associated anger will pass much quicker. You've received some good advice with respect to the reporting serial numbers, potential investigative directions & future protection ideas. I'll give you just one piece of advice. Take care of yourself.

Not to sound like an ass, but if your brother uses or one of his friends does, you probably don't have to look too far. I'm not a cop, but chances are the the if is closer than you think.
