My favorite watch.

. I'd love a 116208. You just don't see them. And, I always know what day it is.

Absolutely love mine! It has never left my wrist aside from when I sleep. I highly recommend the DJ as a daily wearer!

So many beautiful timepieces in this thread.
Sounds braggish, but listing for perspective of how I feel about my DJ. Others have so much more and better. Just perspective; I've a handful of watches including Poor Man Breitling Colt GMT, GMT II TT, Omega Speedmaster Pro, Baume Mercier....but having to do a Sophie's Choice...here it is:

LOVE my 1985 16013 Acrylic

I just look at it at as a piece of beauty and then remember it also keeps time. -2 sec day. Bugs me on the "-" side, but heck, I can't do sheet like I did 26 yrs ago myself (54 now).

Two items on my nightstand that exit, stage left, in a bug out w/ me. My DJ & 1940s Eagle Scout ring.

Whirled Peas...
Goose.

I love mine, but I won't be putting it on a strap, unless something catastrophic happens to the bracelet.

I loved it in 1987 when I bought it and loved it as it got a few nicks, dings and bracelet strech over the years. I still love it, especially when it returned home after being refurbished at the RSC in PA in November '09, where it received a new dial, hands and bracelet . . .

the only way you can get a original datejust with a strap is if you buy a 18k gold watch.

Never actually considered putting my DJ on a strap before, but after looking at a couple others posted I might have to consider trying it sometime.

I absolutely love my '78 16013 DJ and it won't be too much longer before it's considered vintage

My only dilemma is whether to leave the original white dial on or put a champagne dial on? The white dial is so readable but I like the traditional champagne. Any opinions?

It was my first Rolex in 1985. I saved for it for six months. It was a wonderful experience. I wore it through everything for 9 years. I miss it. Wish I would have kept it. Iconic I think. Enjoy.

Mine is for service! One of my all time favorite watches is the datejust and is a great change up when you wear sports watches daily.
