I like the idea of having a birth year watch for me ('57), but I don't even know what a Rolex would look like made that year.

I'd like to find a 1980 and a 1990 DJ models for my two sons. Any idea where I might start my search? Thanks!

Hmmm, birth year?

I do have a 1948 Tudor gold cushion case.

Does that count as Rolex?

Gee they were tiny watches.

I have a 1981 air king. I bought it to flip but when I found out it was my birthyear watch I decided to keep it for good.

That's what I aspire to, actually.

I like to wear mechanical watches because I can feel like I'm one with the watch - moving together, ticking together, and in a way, rooting for each other to keep moving and ticking. That's why a birth year watch appeals to me especially.

Congrats to all who own one and love it. I better start saving for mine for real.

I was lucky

I bought in Christies Geneva a pcg 1675 from the year of my birth 1961 and even the bracelet is matching with date.

Any suggestions on a 1976 Rolex? The idea of a birth year Rolex appeals to me.

Did Rolex make watches in the Jurassic period? I think that is what period 1962 falls into.

Now, what to get? I have no idea but I have thought about it (50th birthday is in 2 years so that's a good time to get it!). I'll have to look into what Rolex made in 1962. I prefer non-date models (or no cyclops anyways). If you have ideas, I'm open to them!
